It is with heavy hearts we had to say our final goodbye to our beloved Kyle Douglas on Monday morning, July 3, 2017 at his home in Strathmore surrounded by his wife and family. Kyle was born at the General Hospital in Calgary and grew up in Calgary. He attended St. Jude, St. Stephen's and graduated from Bishop Grandin in 1992. Kyle was always an entrepreneur and managed his own property management company and also his painting company. He met the love of his life and soul mate Stacey Smith and they were married August 5, 2006. Kyle and Stacey loved to travel, but as much fun as the trips were they preferred their time together at home biking in Fish Creek Park, playing with their dogs, watching movies, and listening to and making music. One of Kyle's loves was playing guitar and the best times were when Stacey would sing along. Kyle was an avid reader, history buff and great conversationalist; he always loved a spirited discussion around politics or current events. Family was paramount and Kyle and Stacey were the anchors in our family gatherings. They were also a model uncle and aunt spoiling their nieces and nephews whom adored him. Kyle is survived by his cherished wife of eleven years, Stacey; his puppy Robert; his loving parents, Doug and Karen Grabham; sisters and brothers-in-law, Erin and Kelsey Gartner and Kristen Grabham and James Porter; nieces, Eden Gartner and Claire Porter and nephew Nolan Gartner, his father and mother-in-law, Phil and Janet Smith; his brother-in-law Glenn Smith (Lashawn) and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Kyle was predeceased by his grandparents, Paul and Fern Donovan and Cecil and Dora Grabham and his beloved puppy Norman. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gerard's Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow at the church.
