Ladislaus Von Hoffmann

As founding music director of the Washington Bach Consort and its ongoing Bach to School program which has been a most fortunate recipient of magnanimous support from the Arcana Foundation for many years, I would like to convey my sincere condolences in the passing of this exceptional man, a great humanitarian and special friend to innumerable arts organizations throughout this city and the nation.

I would like to express my most sincere condolences. I had the honour and plesasure of meeting László both in Hungary and the US and know how much he cherished his Hungarian roots, the legacy of his family. He was a great humanist in the classical, traditional but always topical sense of the word!

The Trustees, Fellows, and staff of the National Humanities Center mourn the passing of this wonderful man. He was very much a scholar and a gentleman and will be missed.

L was an exceptionally complete human being who constantly demonstrated world-class grit, intellect and true compassion.
