I will never forget Lani and the fun we had through the years. I think of her so often and also Cathy and Eric and the rest of the family. Memories of her are the only things we all have now but they are so vivid still after all these years. Hugs to the family.

I will always miss Lani Kay. We became best friends in 7th grade at Lewis Junior High School. She gave me a poem and it says it all.

A Special Friend

What made us friends on the long ago when we first met
Well, I think I know!
The best of me and the best of you
Hailed each other because they knew
That always and always since life began
Our being friends was part of God's plan

We will meet again my friend. Patsy

I think of Lani so frequently. What a great visiting time we would have at local restaurants! I often repeat to myself her favorite advice to me, "Take the high road."

It is easy to remember Lani here is 2020 as I remember her so very very often. She was a dear friend in HS and beyond. What a hole she has left in my life. I have wonderful memories of things we shared and talked about. What an absolute JOY to know!

Will miss Lani forever! An inspiration to others. Wonderful friend. She could be silly at an inappropriate time. She would never give up if help was needed. She loved her grandchildren to the moon and back. Lani and Cathy were an amazing team in their relationship in all walks of life from kindness, to walking, and both being supporttive of one another in being superior educators. I know that she is with Lynn in heaven and thinking up all sorts of mischievous fun

Lani was such a wonderful friend and neighbor. She always made my Olivia feel special at Halloween with extra treats and at Christmas time when Olivia had the pleasure of sharing in one of Lani's traditions by decorating the Mouse House. She cared about Awbrey Glen and her neighbors deeply and the neighborhood will not be the same without her. She will be missed deeply.

I traveled with Lani for HOSTS quite often. It was always hard to get her to put her work aside and just relax. She was extremely dedicated to making children's lives better. She was very special.

Lani Kay was a young woman i always admired.
She was loved and respected by many fellow students at Bay. I was very sad to hear about her passing. I wish we would have made a connection after HBHS. It was a privilege and a special blessing to have known such a remarkable lady.

Lani was an inspiration to me during my 9+ years at HOSTS. She provided leadership, professionalism, expertise, soft caution when needed, and always laughter. Lani was a dedicated educator and program developer. I could trust her knowledge, her guidance, and her business acumen. You were loved and respected in life and will remain that way in my heart. Rest now.

I am so sorry for your loss. As a new "old" friend, it was great fun getting reacquainted with Lani over the last few years at our class lunches. We will miss her greatly. May God grant you comfort as you share wonderful memories of your mom and grandmother.

The most wonderful friend EVER! What wonderful memories from High School plus through our years after that. She helped me get through Spanish in HS, played doubles badminton, was one of my bridesmaids, helped me organize my kitchen when we moved and always gave me the advice, "Take the high road." We never ran out of things to talk about at our walks, breakfasts or on the phone discussing decorating, new cars or furniture. I will miss her greatly!
