Larisa Bailey Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 22, 2013.
Larisa Michelle Bailey, 25, of Klamath Falls, who was born Larisa Lanae Demorest, died suddenly in a car accident on Highway 140 near Medford, Ore., on Jan. 11, 2013.
She was born on Sept. 15, 1987, in Klamath Falls to Nancy Baldwin and Christopher Demorest. Larisa was adopted at the age of 4 by Dan and Shelley Bailey and raised in Medford, where she attended a private school and participated in volleyball, cheerleading, basketball, and with her horse in 4-H.
Larisa reconnected with her birth family in December 2007 and shortly after moved to Klamath Falls to get to know her many family members who lived there.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, journaling, snowboarding, camping, swimming, the Oregon Ducks, and her tattoos. She had a real zest for life and didn't let anything bring her down.
Larisa recently returned to school and earned her GED at Klamath Community College in May 2011 and was making plans to start college.
She was preceded in death by her adopted mother Shelley Bailey and grandmother Laura Baldwin Smith.
Survivors include her mother Nancy Burk (Daniel Burk) of Klamath Falls; father Christopher Demorest of Corcoran, Calif.; adopted father Daniel Bailey of Medford; daughters Shyla and Bailey of Medford; brother Devon Bailey of Portland Ore.; grandparents Roy (Dorothy) Baldwin and Renee Nichols, both of Klamath Falls; aunt Stacie Baldwin-Driscoll (James) of Everett, Wash.; and many extended family members.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, in New Horizon Christian Fellowship at 1909 Homedale Road.
Memorial contributions can be made at Chase Bank or Rogue Federal Credit Union.

Larisa,
I am so sorry I did not write on this sooner, I didn't know that you had one as well.. I really wish we had gotten the chance to become as close as adults that we were as little kids. I did enjoy the few memories we did make together since you came back to us, and I wish we could have made many more like it... My fondest memory of us was when you and Aunt Kristi took care of me after I had Meeka, and we were driving back out to Malin. My milk was full and I was writhing in pain, and you handed me a dutch bro cup to relieve in! You two were laughing so hard I thought you were going to pee your pants!! As you always told me "I know we don't always get along, but you're still my cousin and I still love ya anyway"

Rest easy Larisa I miss you

just yesterday i thought of you and was remembering your grandma's service. we had went away and sat on the benches where we could see everyone. i remember that you only wanted me that day to be with you..i remember you at 3 years old playing with your cousin brandi who was two. i will always remember your silly come backs when someone would say something goofy.. our walks in the park and the bike path will always be a good memory.. but the one that stays the most is dancing at the bar to bottoms up. thats the best one.. i miss you.

My sweet granddaughter. I still can't believe you are gone. When you lived with me as a baby girl, you and your cousin Brandi were inseperable. I will cherish all of the memories we have of you both as a baby and an adult. You came back into our lives only 6 years ago and we had so many good times together. Then you and Aunt Kristi became inseperable. I am going to miss all of that and when your birthday comes around we will make your special birthday dinner of BBQ Tri-Tip and macaroni salad because it was your favorite. Grandpa and I love you so very much. We will always remember the day that you left us as you and your Auntie were both so very happy that day!!

Death leaves a heartache no man can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.
My prayer is for God to continue to strengthen you and your family while learning to live without Larisa.(Psalm 119:76) . . .May your loving-kindness serve, please, to comfort me."

Larisa was an amazing girl. She was so happy and full of life. She brightened everyone's day and lit up room when she came around. We drove everywhere together and spent hours just "chillin" We partied together. When she came to the Medford area, she always stayed with me and my family at my home. My kids adored her and referred to her as their Auntie Risa! We talked about everything, and we comforted each other when we were down. She was a great friend. I will truly miss this beautiful soul.
