I made sure that every time my family was invited to a picnic, I would invite him so he could eat. I knew his family was having a hard time. We had fun at those picnics. I'll always remember his smile and friendship. RIH Larry. Your Compton friends will miss you.

To all who loved and admired this incredible man, Mr. Larry Allen, I pray for our heavenly Father to continue to give you all strength and love during this difficult time. I have been a die hard fan of my Dallas cowboys since the early 70s and especially will never forget during the 90s when Dallas was training at St. Edwards University in Austin, my friend worked security there and when the guys were through for the day I had asked her to please get me some autographs from the players..she remembers how sweet and nice Mr. Allen was when she asked and he even talked to her and to tell me thanks for being such a cowboys fan..I still have that autograph to this day and will forever cherish it..you were such a incredible man and even more, the best player ever to play the game..so go now Mr Allen, continue to rest high on that mountain..you will forever be loved and missed for all eternity..

Larry Allen was a inspiration for me. I was ESPN Memphis' top HS athlete ever. I tackled four people in 1 play, pancaked 2 people in 1 play, threw the NFL average in 8th grade, and dragged a pile more than 5 yards. I was also the points, rebounds, and blocks per minute leader for basketball. I played football and basketball at USC. Additionally, I'm a former aide to Donald Trump and Jeb Bush.

I didn't know him personally but I am a diehard cowboys fan. The moment I read he had passed my hairs stood up on my arms. I shed some tears. Larry was a gentle giant. There will never be another one as cold as he was playing his position. RIP IN THE LORDS ARMS.

Larry Allen was nice enough to accept my friend request on Facebook and being that he was my favorite player of all time, it meant the world to me. He was such a great person and so unbelievably humble. He was an inspiration to so many. Rest in peace, Larry.

I´ve been a die hard Cowboys fan since knee high and I am 48 years old. I´ve played football growing up and seen many great players high school, collegiate and professional. Larry was the most dominant force at offensive line I had ever seen. Whenever you have grown men trying to avoid lining up against you, that is the ultimate honor and respect for your talent. Not only a great football player but an amazing man. If everyone says nothing but great things about your character that is what good humanity is all about. Transition in Peace Big Man you spirit lives on. LA#73

I'm 39 years old today and became a diehard Cowboys fan at 8 years old. Out of all the players in the NFL, you will be the one that I remember the most. Your physical strength and dedication to the game will never be forgotten, and will not be matched within my lifetime. RIP, Larry.

Nonpareil size, strength, and speed. Larry's presence and performances changed the game, in multiple respects. All-time great, indeed! From Compton, to Northern California (including college ball in Rohnert Park, of all places), to his peak professional years in Dallas and back to NorCal, and then to his well-deserved place in Canton. Beloved, respected, truly awesome, and never to be forgotten.
