Very sorry to hear of Larry's passing. The news didn't get back to Ohio for some reason. He would always look me up when he was in the area and go for beer.I was quite stunned when I heard.

3 Feb.2013 Just learned of Larry's passing-He lived with my family in late fifties and early sixties while I was in HS and he was on summer vacation from Purdue. He was like a big brother to me-the fact that he is no longer alive hurts!

I am so sorry to hear this news and truely my condoleces to the Family and friends of this Wonderful Man. We met back in the early 80's at Jethro's which Larry and Karen were the best Hosts. And then on to the Kickoff where we celebrated many weekends with laughter and the "Big Guy" that will always rest with many. We meet many great people in our lives but Larry will always be one of the Greatest Friends to greet and laugh and always share his warmth. RIP Larry, you will always be an inspiration to many.

Larry was such a kind man! You would think he would be intimidating with his huge polar bear hands, the way they gripped his endless cigars.. He was a lot of fun and was so caring. I can still hear his low rough voice as he laughed. My deepest sympathy to the Bowie family. He will be missed!!

We lost a bright light in our family and he will be truly missed by us. Our love and prayers go out to the immediate family with the wish for them of peace and fond memories. Thanks to Kim for loving and caring for him. Also for making Larry so happy and us happy by getting to visit with him and for taking him home for his visits. The West Virginia family was so excited to see him. Love to a loving brother and may heaven be all the good times you could have hoped for! Love, Tony, Marie, Mike & family, & Russ Bowie.

So very sorry to learn of Larry's passing! I will always remember his smile. I first met Larry when I sang at Jethro's with my brother, Ed. He hooked me up with the Vikings and got me a gig singing the National Anthem at a game. So cool. He was good to me, My dad and My family. I will miss him! Say "hey" to Dad and Ed for me. Enjoy the game on Saturday. Pull some strings to get us a Viking Victory!
