Larry my husband and best friend was the bravest man in his battle with cancer. He was hospitalized this past summer for 8 weeks with a collapsed lung.

The lung that did not have cancer. He endured many procedures and tubes being put in often in emergencies and without medication. He may have yelled
out in pain but he never complained. He was not allowed out of bed during those 8 weeks.

Nurses liked being assigned to him because he was kind and funny even in great pain. One doctor always stopped in before leaving just to see how he was
doing. Another doctor told him that they would put a plaque outside his room with Larry´s name on it because he owned it now.

We received the dreaded news late October that the cancer had spread and it was only months. We just held hands and prayed.
We reached out for a second opinion and received one of hope. Larry was one of the first patients diagnosed with Crohn´s disease 50 years ago. He had

handled that battle for all those years and because there had not been a flare up in years, there may be a therapy with the cancer treatment.

It was not to be. I miss him beyond belief. I am so thankful for our years together.

We have donated our bodies to UC Medical Center with hope that they can learn something somehow to help patients with cancer. I have colon cancer.

We thought many people just don´t know what to say. Just a "I´m thinking of you". A hug. Those things mean so much when received. And to those going through it,

Larry and I decided to just make every day as normal as possible including that we could even grumble with each other. Some days were still very difficult
but more days were really good.

I am thankful for the lives of my Uncle Larry and Aunt Joyce. They took me to my first Red´s game and the circus. Uncle Larry introduced me to computers with a hardback book about IBM and a computer printout of Snoopy. He helped me choose a great career and we both worked for EDS and Cincom. You are loved and missed.
