Larry Ellis, 90, of New York City, NY left this world on April 23, 2024

Larry (a. k.a. Larry Montoro, Larry Foray, Marc Douglas) was born on July 28, 1933 in the Bronx, NY to Joseph and Concetta Sarapochiello. He was the youngest of 4 brothers and 3 sisters. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews, their children and grandchildren and friends who loved him like family.

Larry was a gentle soul with a big heart. He was a true lover of life. He was funny and had a mesmerizing personality that others were drawn to in real life and on stage. He had the best laugh. His biggest passion was performing (singing, acting, dancing, ice skating) and he was blessed to live a life where that was fulfilled. His career began in his late teens with appearances on shows such as The Sammy Kay Show and The Arthur Godfrey Talent Show. Larry studied under David LeGrant and Lehmann Byck.

Some notable moments in his career:

~Played Tony in the first traveling production of West Side Story

~Co wrote "Here I Am" with Glen Campbell

~Wrote, produced, and starred in the Broadway show Frank Merriwell

~Toured Australia as Oliver Cool with Chubby Checker, Brenda Lee, and Duane Eddy.

~ Police Story, Planet Of The Apes, Wonder Woman and others

As time went on Larry began teaching acting and voice. He had a magical way of connecting and communicating with his students that always brought out their best.

Larry was one of a kind. His stories and words of wisdom will be greatly missed. Larry will never be forgotten but forever remembered and so loved by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
