Larry Randle Green, Sr. of Fordyce, Arkansas, lost his courageous battle against cancer on July 11, 2012, at Dallas County Hospital in Fordyce. He was born March 13, 1942 in Bucksnort, Arkansas. He was 70 years old. He was a retired craftsman and he used his skills in his own general construction business. He served over 20 years in the Arkansas National Guard. He had previously been employed with Benton Casket Company and Holt Builder's Supply. He was an avid gardener and loved to fish, hunt and reminisce with old friends and family by telling stories. He was a 1961 graduate of Fordyce High School. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy B "Barty" Green and Martha Lane Sindle-Green-Rogers. He is survived by his wife, Mary Catherine Fister Green; his daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Green-Starnes and her husband Bill Starnes of North Carolina; his son Larry Randle "Randy" Green, Jr. and his wife Tracy Green of Maumelle, Arkansas; two brothers, Tommy W. Green and his wife Bernie of Sheridan, Arkansas and Johnny R. Green and his wife Joyce of Wagoner, Oklahoma; two granddaughters R. Keally Miller of North Carolina and Julia Green of Maumelle, Arkansas; a grandson, Lawson Green of Maumelle, Arkansas; an aunt, Paulette Green-Harper; and a multitude of cousins, nieces, nephews and other family and friends. The family will receive friends, Friday, July 13, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce, Arkansas. The funeral will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Benton Funeral Home Chapel followed by a graveside ceremony and will be officiated by Bro. Bobby Thornton and Bro. Tim Doherty. Burial will follow the chapel service at Stoney Point Cemetery in the Bucksnort Community of Dallas County. To sign the online register visit www.bentonfuneralhome.com.
