On Wednesday, July 5, 2023, Larry Charles Howell peacefully passed away, surrounded by family, as he was called home by the Lord. He was born January 13, 1944, in Roanoke, Virginia to Eugene and Juanita Howell. Larry proudly served in the United States Air Force. The Air Force afforded him the opportunity through education, to pursue an aviation career with Piedmont Airlines/U.S. Airways from which he retired in 2005.
On May 10, 1980, he married his wife, Cheryl. Their love and dedication expanded over 43 years. The Lord blessed Larry with 3 children: Jennifer, Justin, and Mindy. He was a devoted father who was very loving, supportive, and only a phone call away.
Larry enjoyed many pleasures in life. He loved playing golf and spending time at the coast. Larry’s greatest pleasure was spending time with his family and friends. His grandchildren were the highlight of his life. His four grandsons: Davis, Matthew, Jaxson, and Conner gave him strength and contributed to the many happy memories he made throughout his life.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Howell; his mother, Juanita Howell and his twin brother, Barry Howell. Larry’s memory lives on and is survived by his wife, Cheryl; daughter Jennifer (Kevin) Lowe of Kernersville, NC; son, Justin Howell of Indian Trail, NC; daughter Mindy (Tayler) Fulton of Walkertown, NC; grandsons Matthew and Davis Lowe of Kernersville, NC; Jaxson and Conner Fulton of Walkertown, NC; and brother, Gary (Judy) Howell of Roanoke, Va.
