MARKS, LARRY

Larry Marks, 64, a resident of Detroit, MI, passed away Monday, December 22, 2014 at Baptist South Hospital, Montgomery, AL. Funeral Service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Good Samaritan Baptist Church, 955 National Avenue, with Rev. Eric Easter, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be held at Carter Hill Cemetary, Pike Road, AL with Ross Clayton Funeral Home directing. He was preceded in death by his parents Dea. Jeff and Annie Marks and also his oldest daughter, Felicia LaShawn Marks who passed away in January of 2014.

Left to cherish his precious memories are his two daughters: Takiyah Oni Marks and Aneesah Shani Marks; one grandson, Charles Samuel Lawrence, Jr.; his former wife and lifelong friend, Nan Marks (all from Farmington Hills, MI); two brothers: Robert Marks and Jeff (Willie Mae) Marks; two sisters: Annie Lois (Jesse) Sturkens and Shirley (Eddie) Bailey (all of Montgomery, AL); three nephews: Jeff Marks, III and Christopher McKinney (Detroit, MI), and Eric Bailey (Montgomery, AL); two neices: Michelle (Johnny Paul) Tooson (Atlanta, GA) and Melissa McKinney (Farmington, MI); and a very devoted friend, Emory (Atlanta, GA). Larry graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Montgomery, AL in 1968 and was a member of the "Marching 100" band. He was a true Yellow Jacket at heart. After high school, he moved to Detroit, MI.
