GREENVILLE - Mr. John Frederick Moye, 91 died Thursday, October 25, 2018.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 3 PM in the mausoleum at Pinewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:30 to 2:30 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home.

John, son of the late Allen and Pearl Forbes Moye, was a native and lifelong resident of Greenville. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II and returned home to farm with his father and brother. Following his retirement from farming he began to invest in and manage rental property and gained much pleasure through playing golf. During these years he began to study and research the Bible and his own faith. Following his search he became an active member of the West Congregation of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. John thoroughly enjoyed people, talking with and getting to know others. He was able to build lifelong friendships that meant much to him, enriched his life, and many others.

In addition to his parents Mr. Moye was also preceded in death by brothers, James Ray, Burney, and Willard Moye, and a sister, Margaret Moye Evans.

He is survived by his son, John F. Moye, Jr. of Greenville; brother, Blanie A. Moye of Greenville;his former wife, Mona Moore Moye of Winterville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
