My condolences and prayers to Larry's family.
I had known him for 18 months but our conversations always ended with a smile and a cheerful "See you later". Larry will be missed and our conversations will be remembered.
RIH my friend.

I knew Larry from his time working at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church. He never met anyone who he didn't treat as a friend. We had many interesting discussions about his youth, his days as a police officer, his time on the rescue squad, and his wife Trudy, whose picture he kept in his desk drawer. In his time working security at the church, it is remarkable that Larry touched the lives of so many, and we were all better having known him. He will be missed.

Mr Potter (who always told me to call him Larry) was a wonderful, loving man. When I saw him in the hospital, he told me that he was okay with going home to Jesus and his beloved wife. Another generous gift from a man who lived a generous life.

Larry,
Oh Larry, it was really sad to hear that you were no longer here. I was looking forward to your call and you kept your word. Which was something you always did. If you said you were going to do something, or make something happen you would go out your way to make sure it was done. I love hearing you talk about your wife, the admiration you shown were effortless. Hearing about your daily adventures, when you had to retire. Deciding to go back in the work field because as you stated "man I cant sit still" but watching you go each day put a smile on your face. You were such a gem to know. I am truly going to miss you.

As a pantry volunteer and friend, I will miss Larry dearly, especially when I walk through the door past his desk to volunteer.
He seemed to take an interest in the pantry program and in me personally. May God rest his soul and bless his family.

I remember Mr. Potter like a second dad. I grew up just around the corner from the Potter“s. He always made me feel like one of the family, I spent as much time at their house as I did at home. He was so kind and sweet and funny. I feel lucky to have had him in my life! Rest in Peace Mr. Potter
I love you Tracie , Jody, & Scott.

Larry Potter was a great neighbor and friend. When my mom died in 2001, Larry came over and said he wouldnt be able to attend the funeral because he would think of Trudy and be heart broken. He did come to the graveside services and saluted the hearse in uniform. I am forever grateful. The second thing was he pulled e over in Dumfries because I was speeding. He also pulled another car over. He told me to sit there while he tended to the other car. He did let me go and it seem to be the topic at his many cook outs . He was a good soul.

I wanted to share a couple sweet memories of Larry Potter. We were neighbors and my mom passed away. He came over and said he couldnt be there at the service because he still had strong emotions about losing his beloved wife, Trudy. He did come to the graveside service and honored the hearse with a salute. I will always be grateful. The other memory that I wanted to share is that I was speeding in Dumfries and he pulled me and another car over. He told me to wait right there at that spot and walked to the other car. Once he walked back to me me, he asked me where I was going so fast and ofcourse I replied that I was late for work. He said get out of here. I was grateful that he was a great neighbor and friend.
