Larry Don Towery

April 29, 1953 - February 1, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Larry Don Towery, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Larry was born on April 29, 1953, in Danville, Arkansas, and passed away unexpectedly on February 1, 2025, at the age of 71 at his home in Happy Valley, Oregon.

Larry graduated from Justin F. Kimball High School in Dallas, Texas, in 1971. He forged a successful career at Bank of America for 30 years, eventually becoming Vice President before retiring at the age of 48 to spend more time with his family.

Larry's passions extended far beyond his professional achievements. He was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in hunting, dirt bike riding, muscle cars, and he was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan, regardless of their season record. A devoted family man, Larry shared almost 50 years of marriage with his wife, Vicki. Together, they raised two wonderful sons, Eric and Ryan, who brought immense pride and joy to Larry's life. He was a dedicated father to Eric and Ryan and a doting grandfather to Charlotte and Evelyn. Larry's family was the cornerstone of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

A defining trait of Larry's was his sense of humor which he loved to share with others. He got great enjoyment at making people smile. His humor imprinted on all who knew him, and it was one of the many reasons we all loved him dearly.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki Towery; his son Eric Towery, and his wife Stephanie Towery, and their children Charlotte and Evelyn; his son Ryan Towery, and his partner Bridget Thomas; his sisters Becky Towery and Diana Hatfield, and her husband Steve; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arvel and Peggy Towery, and his brother, Danny Towery.

Family and friends will gather to remember and celebrate Larry's life at the family home on February 16th, 2025. As we come together to honor his memory, we will cherish Larry's legacy of the laughter, love, and joy he brought into our lives, and he will forever remain in our hearts.

I worked with Larry at Bank of America. He always made the work enjoyable with his sense of humor and support, especially when we were doing system conversions or mergers! Prayers for his family, friends and co-workers.
