I met Larry in 1968 through Art Wiens. I remember when we went to Long Beach, we flew there with Art. I was throwing a stick into the water for a dog to fetch. Larry took a picture and entered it in a contest and won first prize, a nice camera. I still have that photo.
Sorry to hear of his passing.

I just found out of Larry'y passing today while I was visiting with another old friend Dennis Mantie in Nanaimo, we all grew up together and I remember so many memories of Larry (Moth) when we were in our 20's, when he bought the Harley, when he built the Hog house to store the bike in behind his Mom's house, the Oldsmobile car he "herded" around as he described it....I caught up to Moth from the net and phoned him a few years ago and told him we needed to do some catching up on old times next time I was in town, we never got that chance and I am deeply saddened of his passing, he was an awesome person in every way, my condolences to Larry's family and friends, he will be missed by all.

I had the pleasure of cycling with Larry in BC Randonneurs events and, in particular, the 2001 Flèche Pacifique where he played a large role in organizing our team and was also kind enough to let me stay at his place before the event.
My condolences to his friends and family.

I did not know Larry well but I feel like I did through the stories told by Renee. She talked about him and their family quite often.

I met and cycled with Larry on his first Randonneur (marathon) cycling event. Subsequently, we cycled a few thousand kilometres together in various events, sometimes in ideal conditions, at times in horrendous conditions. Not all events went well, physically or mentally, but we helped each other get to the finish.

A rock, a constant, a person who was always there, and who you could count on being there.Working with Larry on shift 2 ,I could always count on Larry,s knowledge of the product and machine to steer me in the right direction if a problem arose. He set the pace for production, which I do not think ever will be surpassed. It was a pleasure and an honor working with you.

from Lindy Butler, 4381 (Livingstone Road)--I remember the Voth family from the time we can now call the (good) 'old days'- the '60's. We moved away in 1969 so that's how long ago it was. Larry was (much!) older than I. I was closer in age to Renee. I'm the youngest of the Butlers (John, David, Jane,me).I think that Mrs Voth, Eleanor Voth, would be so proud that her eldest son Larry will be remembered as a dedicated father because Eleanor Voth was herself, as I recall, a devoted and loving mother who loved her children and was proud of her children-Karyn, Larry, Lorne, & Renee- beyond all else. She was one classy lady, a great lady, and she loved you so much. I remember how proud she was of all of you and I remember her with great fondness. She was a wonderful woman, Lindy Butler Victoria BC
