Larry K. Wardle

Salt Lake City, Utah-Larry K. Wardle, 79, died from causes incident to Parkinson's Disease on Tuesday, 2 December 2014.
He was the youngest son of Allie and Eliza Wardle. Larry was born 3 May 1935, in Roosevelt, Utah. He graduated from Provo High School in 1953, and later that year he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Larry served as a Sergeant in the Eighth Combat Engineer Battalion assigned to the First Cavalry Division on the island of Hokkaido in Northern Japan. Larry was later selected to attend Infantry Officer Candidate School in Fort Benning, Georgia. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant, assigned to the 96th Infantry Division (U.S. Army Reserve). Larry completed assignments as a Platoon Leader, Executive Officer, and Company Commander.
Larry received a B.S. degree in Psychology and Economics from Brigham Young University in 1961, and an M.S. degree in Business Administration/Industrial Relations from the University of Utah in 1972. He was employed by the Utah Department of Employment Security in various supervisory and management positions, and he retired after thirty years as the Director of Reports and Analysis.
In 1958, he married Margie K. Wagley from Beaumont, Texas. They were later divorced. In 1968, he married Marilyn Brighton Killian of Roosevelt, Utah. Children include: Larry Alton Barry, Kathy L. Barry, Steve Early (Tracy). Stepchildren include: Sidney Grant Killian (Shaunna), Patti Johnson (Roger), Clay Killian (Maridee), and Guy T. Killian (Gerusa).
A funeral will be held at the Taylorsville 12th Ward Chapel located at 4505 South 3420 West, Taylorsville, Utah, on Saturday, 6 December 2014, at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will be held at Camp Williams at a later date.
