I met Larry at the Sturgis Black Hills rally in 95 through a mutual friend, Cliff McWilliams. I rode many miles beside that 'Larry Special Softail Custom Harley'.

I have many special memories.

Larry was the opposing attorney in one of my first cases as a young lawyer. I learned a lot about lawyering and good ethics from Larry. We became friends during that case.

Larry is one of the special ones, a good and decent man.

Larry will be remembered for the boldness in his words as a good advocate and for the warmth in his heart towards his friends and family. After working with him for 17 years, I am grateful for the good times and his encouraging advise. In difficult times he would always say "Don't get your dobber down" and that's how he lived, ready to move-on.

To the family and friends of Larry A. Withers:

Larry and I became friends in 1971 through mutual friends, Gary and Sally Winfrey. My wife, Barbara, and I, had many memorable times with Larry and Ginger during our years in Wichita, 1968-1986. Particularly, Larry and I shared a lot of enthusiasm regarding motorcycles, fast cars, boxing and running. One time, Gary Winfrey and I had to take Larry to Wesley Hospital when he fell and broke both arms while running with us in Riverside Park. Not even a wimper from him! I will never forget, and I'll always admire, Larry's keen sense of wit and easy-going manner. He was a true gentleman, family man, accomplished attorney and wonderful friend. His smile and warm personality will always remain with me.

Ginger, you and your family have been in our thoughts and prayers and will continue to be. I can really see the family resemblance in Kale. You have been so brave through all of this. God bless you.

Larry and I worked together on may cases while I was with USF&G. One of the best lawyers I have ever known. He was always a good friend and will be greatly missed.
