Phoenix - Larry H. Wright 71, passed away at his home in Phoenix, Arizona, with his wife at his bedside, on April 17, 2025 after a long battle with cancer. He was born March 21, 1954 in Hot Springs, Arkansas, the son of Roy H. and Dora E. (Hogue) Wright. He was the last member of his family of origin.

Larry graduated from Lake Hamilton High School, class of 1972. Following graduation, he served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, as a Navy Corpsman. After discharge from the U.S. Navy, he worked in various positions of healthcare, including hospital orderly, EMT, and psychiatric tech. While living in Texas, Larry graduated from Amarillo College's School of Nursing in 1993, and subsequently moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where he pursued a career as an RN, working in several area hospitals. The last four years of his career he worked as a hospice nurse for a Hospice of the Valley inpatient unit. During the final year of his life, Larry was cared for at home by his wife and a Hospice of the Valley care team.

Larry's hobbies included playing the guitar and wood carving. He will be remembered by those who knew him for his quick wit and offbeat sense of humor. He loved to make others laugh.

He is survived by his wife Jane (Borghi) Wright; his stepsons Graham Weisse and Trevor Weisse; his sons Daniel Wright, Benjamin Wright and his wife Cassie; his daughter Melissa Wright Smith and her husband Chris; four grandchildren, Serena Estrada, Sierra Estrada, Damien Escalera, and Diego Escalera; two great-grandchildren, Santino Segura Jr, and Luca Estrada; two nieces, JoAnn Riggin and Nancy Fendley; two sisters in-law, Joan Sloser and her husband Michael, and Judy Harris and her husband Jay; and brother in-law Joseph (Joe) Borghi and his wife Tammy.

Larry requested a simple cremation without a memorial service. Those who wish to remember him in a special way may make a donation to Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix, Arizona.

With the deepest, greatest heartfelt sympathy. I send my condolences to Larry´s family. He was a wonderful brother-in-law, friend and consultant.
I remember him with the greatest sense of humor, always wanting everyone to enjoy life and their present endeavors. He loved his music. The guitar was his friend. We shared the book Lord of the rings and many fantasies and dreams about the way the world is today. I remember him loving his, first three children, Daniel, Benjamin and Melissa with the pride of a lion. Always putting them first.
The love between him and Becky was a very special bond.
my hero, rest in peace and let perpetual light shine upon him.
