Laura Ann Baerg

Laura Ann Thulean (Baerg), age 56, of Spokane, WA, passed away on May 16, 2025, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, WA.



Laura was born on February 23, 1969, in Spokane, WA. She attended Shadle Park High School and later went on to work for non-profit organizations until she became the Executive Director of Spokanimal.



She was a devoted parent to her two daughters, Amber Thulean and Chelsea Thulean, as well as many "adopted" children that she took in as her own. She was a mom to all that needed her. She was also a loving grandparent to her grandson, Rhyker Thulean-O'Harran, and her granddaughter, Daylynn O'Harran.



Laura was known for her deep love of animals and the great outdoors. She found joy in camping and exploring the beauty of national parks, always embracing nature. Her personality was as fun as her wardrobe-groovy tie-dyed outfits and flip-flops in any weather were her signature look, a nod to her enduring love for the 70s.

More than anything, Laura was a beacon of compassion. She had a heart that welcomed everyone, offering second chances and fresh starts to those who needed them most. Her loving nature and unwavering belief in people's potential guided many through difficult times, helping them persevere and become the best version of themselves. She had a saying that captured her strength perfectly: "Just put on your big girl panties." It was her way of encouraging resilience.

Laura's legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the kindness she shared, and the love she gave so freely.



She is survived by her sister Jill Barigar; daughters Amber and Chelsea; "adopted" daughters Brittany Sapp, Tiffany Sapp, Bailey Perron-Alexander, and Ariel Johnson; grandchildren Daylynn and Rhyker; along with many other relatives and close friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Bob and Phyllis Taylor; her Aunt Betty Barigar; and her "adopted" daughters Chantae Walker and LaDonna Sapp.



A memorial service to celebrate Laura's life will be held on August 16, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Spokane Sport Horse Farm. In honor of her vibrant spirit and love for the 70s, we invite all who attend to wear their grooviest tie-dyed outfits and flip-flops-just as Laura would have wanted.

A beautiful soul, now at rest. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
