Laura Jean "Jeanie" Creamer

Laura Jean "Jeanie" Creamer, 65, was called home to be with her Lord November 11, 2024, after battling MS for four decades. A beloved daughter, sister, mother, educator, and sister-in-Christ to many, Laura will be remembered for her faith and her love for those around her.



Born on August 3, 1959, in Athens, Texas, to Lorena and J.C. Airheart, Laura grew up in Trinidad, Texas, where she proudly played clarinet and served as the majorette in the Trinidad High School marching band. After graduating high school as her class salutatorian in 1977, she earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Stephen F. Austin State University. Laura then moved to Fort Worth, where she planted her roots and raised her daughter and son, whom she loved dearly. She touched many young lives over the years as an elementary school teacher at Kennedale and Fort Worth ISDs.



Her MS diagnosis did not deter Laura from pursuing her passions. There was no higher calling for Laura than her walk with Christ. Laura was a member of Southcliff Baptist Church for more than 20 years and chose music as her ministry. She played in the church orchestra, lifting notes of praise during worship. Laura particularly enjoyed participating in Southcliff's annual Christmas program, the Singing Christmas Tree, and she spent many happy hours learning how to play the flute and saxophone.



Laura is survived by her daughter, Brittany (Shane) Johnson, her son Austin (Jessica) Creamer, and four grandchildren. Laura is also survived by her mother, Lorena Airheart, sister, Louise Airheart, and brother Kenneth (Rhonda) Airheart. She also leaves behind one niece, three nephews, and many cousins.



Laura was preceded in death by her father, J.C. Airheart, and her nephew, James Taylor.



Family and friends will gather to celebrate Laura's life on Monday, November 18, at 1pm at First Baptist Church Malakoff, located at 220 W Mitchum St, Malakoff, TX 75148. All are welcome.
