I am truly saddened to hear about the loss of my dear friend and colleague Laura Koss. Laura and I worked together in the basement at Gilmore Elementary School, and immediately connected. We had so much fun turning that basement hallway into a winter wonderland at Christmas time (although the Fire Marshall thought it was a death trap). What fun we had. Laura was assigned to be my mentor my year at Gilmore, but we just had so much fun making everything fun for our students. She was a tremendous teacher, friend, mentor, mother, and all around great person, and will always be remembered by everyone who knew her. Her spirit will always be alive in all of us, and that is what makes her so unique. I feel so much better knowing that Laura is looking down on all of us and guiding us through these crazy times. She will always be our guardian angel.

I am so sorry to hear about Laura. I have known Laura my whole life living down the street from her on Fix Road. We were never very close, but when we saw each other in the stores around the Island, we always stopped and chatted and caught each other up on our lives. Laura always had a great smile and a wonderful laugh.
I will never forget her.
The family is in my prayers.

I am saddened to hear of Laura's passing. I actually met Laura during a medical test several years ago. I was very nervous and she was so supportive. We realized that we only lived down the street from each other. After that appointment we only were able to get together a few times, but she always had a smile on her face. You would have never known what she was going through. She was even kind enough to stop over an evening before Christmas to bring my daughters a copy of her favorite books, despite the fact that she was not feeling well.
My family still remembers that special visit.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family.

I loved her. Laura and I worked together more than 20 years ago at the Holiday Inn on Grand Island. We lost touch and then reconnected a few years ago. It was like we never had stopped talking. Laura was like that. She made you feel like that. Like you were her best friend. She always had time to talk. She always had a smile on her face. She never complained. She was the epitome of courage and grace through a terrible situation. And she will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
To Ted and Ben, Fran and Joe, Craig and Lisa and the rest of the Fusco/Kose family, please accept our deepest condolences. My heart aches for you and your loss and for the rest of us as well. She was one of a kind. A tremendous human being and an example to us all.
I love you Laura.

With great sadness I write this to Laura's family. Laura touched the lives of so many-adults and children. Her kidness, love,& courage were examples to all. What a great personality-so upbeat. Our lives have all been blessed because of her. I'm so glad our lives crossed paths. May God give your family strength at this most difficult time. Rest in peace Laura.

I first met Laura in 1996 when they were building their house on Stony Pt. We became instant friends and called each other "sister". She was remarkable from the beginning and even more so as the years went by. She was the inspiration everyone needed and received. She NEVER complained and always had such a beautiful smile on her face that lit up her eyes. I will miss her forever.

To Laura's family. I am deeply sorry for your loss of one of the most amazing people I have ever met. I worked with Laura at Gilmore back when we were all the "basement babes". She was loving and caring and was always there for everyone. Her compassion for the kids, her friends and her family was never ending. She was courageous and an inspiration to everyone who knew her. It was a priviledge for me to know her and to have worked with her and even though she is not physically present, she will remain in everyone's heart forever.

It is with highest of honorable intention and hope to lighten your heart by praying
The Lord's Prayer :
Our Father who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread and
Forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us and
Lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is thy kingdom, the power and the glory are yours.
Now and for ever. Amen

A message to Laura's mom and dad...
When we left our message we realized that we left out a very important thing and that is...a person who had so much love to give must have been raised with an astounding amount of love themselves, and for this we thank you. It was a privledge to be a part of Laura's life.
With love,

To Laura's dear family, Words cannot express the feelings of lost for a friend. I came to know Laura when I worked in the Reading Center. She was always an inspiration to me. She dealt with kindess, love and compassion to the students she had, and she was always concern for everyone around her, no matter who you were. I will miss sending her a card to let her know I have not forgotten her. Through her illness, she proved that suffering is a true act of Love given back to God. May the Angels take her to Pardise and may she look down on all of us and be our help to reach Heaven one day. I will always keep Laura in my heart and in my prayers.
To Ted and Ben, you haven't lost her, she will always be there by your side. Our Faith teaches us that. May God Bless you, her parents, family and friends.

Dear Ted(Bones), Ben, and family,
It is with a heavy heart that we leave this message of love and support to you and your family. One of the greatest things about our dear friend Laura was how much she loved her family and friends. She would always brag about "my man Ted and my boy Ben." You were her world and we were privledged that she let us in it. We were so fortunate that when she came to Gilmore she spread this love amongst all of us. She loved being a teacher and the love she had for her work was contagious. One of her students shared with us today that "she loved me even though I couldn't read." This is a grand example of her impact. We were priviledged that she became part of our Gilmore family and we grieve this loss with you. She will always and forever remain in our hearts.

Much love,
Jackie, Heather, and Mackenzie Rose-LaPier
