Laura Elizabeth Hudson Ling

Chris and Family, I was shocked to learn of Laura's death. Please know that all of you will be in our thoughts and prayers. The memories of radio in Waco, Texas still brings a smile to my face. Chris stay strong and keep the faith for your family.

I never really realized how Laura had an impact on my life until I heard the tragic news from a childhood friend that Laura and I both shared. When I looked back on the memories I had shared with Laura I once again felt the humor and love that Laura had shared with so many people in her life. My deepest sympthany to her family and my prayers are with you. I am forever grateful that for a short time in Laura's precious life that God shared her with me.

Ms. Laura was a great asset to the Socastee library, I will miss her every time I visit the Socastee Library. She was a great friend.

I have never met any of the family, though I only live a few doors down. We are all deeply saddened by this senseless passing. May all our prayers be with the family for now and the days to come.

Nick - I'm Rebecca Goldberg's mom and so clearly remember when we all wound up at Miyabe last April 1, 2004 - - - each of our families celebrating yours and Becca's 18th birthdays. We still have the picture taken by the staff of you and Becca wearing the pink tiaras. I am so sorry for your loss. Please know you are in our family's prayers.

I had just spoken to Laura this last

September about our upcoming 25th high school reunion. She was such a pretty and smart girl. I remember many good times in German class. She wanted so badly to come home

to Texas and visit her classmates. May God bless her and comfort her family.

I hope that Laura's family finds as much comfort in reading these memories, thoughts and prayers as I have. Laura was a wonderful woman, and I will miss her. My heart goes out to her family, and you will all remain in my thoughts and prayers.

I had the Pleasure of knowing Laura via my Fiance` Kim, who also works at Socastee Library. She will forever live in our Memories and in the lives of her children. My thoughts and prayers are with Chris, Nick, Alex, Christina and all of the Hudson Family.

We have never met, though we lived close by. I pray for you daily and keep your family in my deepest thoughts. Angels get their wings many times before they leave this earth, and I feel that Laura had her wings while still alive.



Cherish the memories and the wonderful words that friends have shared. Pain and healing take a life time, but look each night to the brightest star to see Laura's smile. As in life, she will always continue to watch you from above.

So sorry to learn of the loss of your dear Laura. In meeting you on Tuesday my nerves were racing and the butterflies were active. But your composure helped me do my job. Please know that you are in our prayers and that our hearts are burdened for you. Trusting that God's infinite love and mercy will be given in full measure.

Laura was a good friend through high school and college. When we spoke in recent years, she always talked with pride about her children and her sisters. She had a luminous character, and my faith tells me her brightness has joined that of our Lord.

Normand and I were devestated when we heard about Laura's death. We knew you both since we moved to Georgetown in 1995. Laura would come into our store and we would talk about kids and the books we were currently reading. We would sometimes exchange books since we both enjoyed mysteries. Something she said has stayed with me.

She said one of her most enjoyable times was watching Jane Austen romances with Christina.

Chris, we remember you with love. We know that your children will keep you focused and your love for Laura will help you through the tough times. God bless you all! You will be in our prayers.

To all her family and friends and everyone she touched. you are in my thoughts and prayers!

I was new to the area when I came to the Socastee Library. Within minutes, Laura was helping me get a library card, searching for a website address for me and inviting me to join her book club. After 45 minutes of conversation, I felt like I actually "knew" someone in the area. From that day on, I searched her out everytime I went back to the library, for a quick joke or a chat... Tonight I went in to return a book... and she wasn't there, and it didn't feel the same, nor will it ever.

This is a special message to Nick. My sister, Merrilyn Long, and I traveled to Pennsylvania when you were between 5th and 6th grades. We are saddened about your mother and will keep you and your family in our prayers. For identification purposes, Iris Lee is my granddaughter. Remember Hershey Park?

We knew the Ling's through our son's grade school. Our son David and Cris/Laura's son Nick went to Waccamaw Elementary together. There was always a friendly competition as to who was smarter. Nick was always into reading/english/etc., whereas David was into the math/science bent. Both Nick and David were on the same Georgetown County Soccer Team that was coached by Cris. When Laura became a Catholic, Marcia was Godmother at the childrens' baptism. We are all saddened and grieve at the news of her death.

Dearest Chris, I will be praying for you also and especially during the coming months ahead as you now have the difficult task of being the parent to these beautiful children you and Laura had.I will pray for strength and endurance and patience for you. I knew Laura's family very well, especially dear Vickie.We were in MYF at church together and we went to school together, also. Vickie and I were a year apart in school- she like Laura and Cathy excelled in everything she did. I also had Mr. Hudson for a Sunday School teacher.My mom still goes to church with, Sue. When death is to stinging, too senseless, too sad, it's hard to find words that bring consolation. I've known Laura for only about six months, but I know she was a vibrant, caring person. She led the book club with wit and gusto. She will be missed by all of us who knew her. My prayers are with the family of this loving woman.

I do not know Laura Ling very well but she was a good lady that I have not meet her before at all. Her daughter, family,friends and ex husband will miss her so much.

i will prey for the family and friends of this sweet inncent lady.

I met laura was buying a golf cart 4 my dad. She seemed like a nice lady.She was also my nieghbor.I am praying 4 her family.

Laura was a childhood friend. We played softball together... well, I played she read in the dugout. She will be fondly remembered for her witty personality and zest for life. My sincere condolences to her mother and family.

My heartfelt sympathy to the kids, especially Nick and Christine who were in the Waccamaw band with my daughters.

I worked with Laura through the Horry County Government Access Channel. She was always very kind and helpful. Although I did not know her as well as I might have liked to, I considered a friend. I will keep her in my prayers always.

Usually, when Laura was around everyone laughed, a lot,and she never minded going out of her way to do something for someone she cared about.

Our lives are better for knowing her, and sadder for the loss of her.

We are rememering all of her family and friends in our thoughts and prayers.

I have known Laura for almost two years and am deeply saddened by her unexpected death. I feel especially sorry for Christina, who not only had to endure so much pain, but who has lost her mother. My prayers go out to all of her family, I know you have great memories of her love and her joy for life. She was high spirited, friendly, knowledgeable and full of life. I pray that God will remind you of all of these wonderful things when your heart is heavy with grief.

I didn't get to know her personally, however I am at the library almost daily. My prayers and condolences are with her family and friends.

I had the opportunity to become aquainted with Laura through the Library.

Although we never had the chance to bond as close friends, you could tell that people loved her dearly. She was very intelligent and helpful to all the patrons in the Library. Always there going the extra mile to make people feel comfortable in the Library.

My heart goes out to everyone involved in this tragedy. May there be peace and comfort with her children, friends, family, and co-workers during this difficult time.

My mother, Johnnie Probasco, baby sat Laura when she was a young girl. My mother, myself, and my brother, Lance (a close friend to Laura's mother, Sue) are just stunned, but know that the wonderful memories of Laura will sustain her family through this truly devastating time. Our love and prayers are with all who loved Laura.

Laura was a childhood friend and I will always remember her fondly for her wit and intelligence. I am at a loss for words for her family. My deepest condolences to Mrs. Hudson, Catherine & Victoria.
