I prefer to remember Ashley as I saw her during my visit to Vegas last spring. As I left her mom's house to drive to my hotel, Ashley hopped on her moped to go home. She caught up with me at the traffic light. As I turned left, she turned right, but the way she looked at me, the way she smiled and waved good bye touched my heart. It was the way she did it...it was special and so was she. I love you Ashley.

Laura was such an amazing and admirable person. From the day I met her till now I can only remember her and that beautiful smile of hers, it was contagious! It hurts to have lost you in such a tragic way but I know that when you agreed to come down to this earth to serve and partake of Heavenly fathers plan you agreed to this, this was part of the plan and you have completed your mission here on earth. You did that best that you could, as always and its now time for you to return back with our Father in heaven. We thank you're the wonderful memories and ask that you watch over us. Until we meet again beautiful, we love you.
She was the Big Sister of the year in 2010.

It is so hard to believe that Laura McKinney is not with us any more, she was always so intelligent, caring, diligent and willing to do her best on everything she was doing and be the best for others as well. She was always willing to share with others that when you work hard good things come up, this is how she always conducted herself as a Big Sister for 3 boys who were not doing the best with academics and with behavior, and all of them ended on being successful in school and doing the right thing, so she always made me feel so proud of her and of her talent to make others change in a very positive way. Everything she touched became better in different ways. God bless her heart, rest in peace and we love you so much wherever you are. Big Brothers Big Sisters Team.

Laura was like a sister. She almost was. Her and my sister loved each other. If it wasn't for Laura my sister might not be here. I'm eternally grateful for everything! She will forever remain a HERO in my eyes. Rest in peace Laura! Look after my sister from up there. She needs your guidance.

I know the her friends whom attended Rancho HS with her as well as myself remember her quiet caring attitude. While in my class and in Hosa she grew into a wonderful lovely lady lady who life was tragically taken too early.

Laura was an amazing student in and out of the classroom. She always brought smiles to everyone's faces. I have known her for 3-4 years now, she loved being outdoors and helping with the clubs horses. She has a passion for horses. You will forever be loved and never forgotten. I had not seen Ashley in awhile as she had become a wonderful young lady and ventured out on her own leaving her parents home. I was so very blessed when I was given the opportunity to actually see her smiling face one last time. It will be a memory never forgotten. Our love goes out to her family.
