Laura M. Samuelson
1949-2022
Laura Marie (McAuley) Samuelson, 73, of Apple Valley, MN, passed away after a brief illness with cancer on August 14, 2022. Her family was with her every minute in the weeks leading up to her death.
Laura was born in Bronx, NY, on January 27, 1949, to Hal and Dolly McAuley, the youngest of eight children. She attended Maria Regina Catholic High School and later graduated from nursing school in Dayton, OH.
She was a loving, caring nurse in her working life as she touched many patients and their families. Her last position was held with M Health Fairview Heart Clinic until her retirement in 2018. Her favorite "job" title, however, was mother and later grandmother (Nana).
Survivors include her children Jennifer (Chris) Anderson, Steve Powers, and Brian (Amanda) Powers. Additionally, she leaves behind her four grandchildren Luke, Lauren, Natasha, and Jackson, and four siblings. She is preceded in death by her parents, special Aunt Kay, two sisters, and a brother.
Laura was dearly loved, her strength greatly admired, and her caring ways deeply appreciated. She will be profoundly and eternally missed.
