Laura Smith Obituary
Born in Honduras, on May 25, 1985, Laura grew up in Sandwich.
She was a 2004 graduate of Upper Cape Tech, majoring in cosmetology.
Most recently, she worked in retail management and was a member of Calvary Chapel of Sandwich.
Laura was vibrant, loving and caring. She lit up a room with her presence and created a vacuum when she left.
The ever-present optimist, Laura was always encouraging others and is cherished for her child-like heart.
Laura is survived by her parents, Tom and Eileen Smith of Orlando, Fla.; her siblings, Marcella Embry of Orlando, Marni Garrity of Boston, Matt Smith of Pittsburgh, PA; her fiance Pvt. Rob LaBossiere, currently serving in Iraq; her 3 nieces, 32 cousins, many aunts and uncles, and a great multitude of friends.

The viewing is Wednesday, September 19th, at Christ Chapel, 1200 Old Stage Road, Centerville, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a service to follow.

Tom,Eileen,Helene,Lisa and the rest of your family, My heart is broken over this for all of you. Laura was such a wonderful child. Although I haven't seen her in several years the memories I have still make me smile. While Ken lived in your apartment Laura was my chaperone. She intertained us with songs and skits (I think she wanted Ken to put her on the skit team), she may have only been 6 yrs old then but her personality was shining though. You are all in our prayers.Our thoughts will be with you all tonight as I am truely sorry we can't make the service. God Bless

I'll treasure that brief time we had working together laura. We always had so much fun and laughed so much. Wou were beautiful both inside and out, and that is a rare thing for a person. We have lost our dear and precious Laura. We are all better people for having known you dear one. I am so sorry to hear about this tragic news, you just don't think that someone so young & full of life will leave us so soon. I remember when Laura first came over from Honduras and have watched her grow into the beautiful young woman that she was. Her family did a wonderful job at raising her and I am deeply saddend for them to have to experience this loss.

I remember Laura as a most beautiful child. She was always so happy when she came to visit, my kids loved it. I didn't get to see much of her as a woman, just saw her once as a teenager and she was still beautiful and my boys were still mesmerised. Smith Family: Our family unites in sorrow for your overwhelming loss. Laura was truly unique...in all the ways that unique is good.
