Laura Lucille Stofan, aged 89, passed away on October 30, 2024, in Manhattan, IL. Born on December 9, 1934, Laura was known for her pragmatic and practical approach to life. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family deeply.

Laura was preceded in death by her son and daughter, Terry Vaughn and Leslie Welz, and her husbands, Ray Giugler, Gene Houser, and John Stofan. She is survived by her loving children, Mary Ellen Ruedin and Paul Giugler; grandchildren, Joshua Ruedin, Andrew Welz, Rachel Krauch, Christopher Giugler, Rebecca Boetje, Brynn Blatzheim, and Sarah Welz; along with 10 great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly.

Professionally, Laura was the entrepreneurial spirit behind Laura's Laundrymat in Joliet, IL, which she owned and operated from the mid 1970's until her retirement in 1999. Her business acumen and dedication to her community were evident through her successful management and the lasting relationships she built with her customers.

A celebration of Laura's life will be held on November 16, 2024, at Al's Steakhouse in Joliet, IL, from noon to 3 PM. Friends, family, and those whose lives were touched by Laura are welcome to attend and share in remembering her legacy.
