Laurel WARNER

Laurel, I pray that you are safe and sound. I pray that you are without pain, fear, anger, anxiety, confusion, depression, disorientation and disability. I pray that you exist amidst kindred souls who accept you, appreciate you , value you and live with you in peace in harmony. I pray that you are happy or, at the very least, serene. You were a woman of grace and wisdom, sophistication and charm, empathy and kindness, perspicacity and ability to see the big pictures. A woman of high moral character who stood up what she knew was right. A woman who could calm fretful babies and little children. A friend, a colleague and a great physician. A mentor, a role model and wonderful mother. Thank you for all you have given us. We love you and miss you.

Whenever I remember you, I feel a warmth and a spark in my heart that tells me that your kindness is nearby. It's sad but hopeful and comforting at the same time.

Another year of missing such a bright intelligent and caring woman and physician.

Still being thought of 6 years after her death...that is the legacy of
beautiful people!

I am brought back to remember your always blessed smile and the way you treated me with kindness and I am thankful to have crossed paths with you.

I just had another dream last night with Laurel in it. we were walking around and she was giving me advice. I still miss her guidance and knowledge.

So many times this year I have wanted to talk to her and just listen to her wisdom and knowledge as we have faced this pandemic. She would have known the latest facts and guided all of us. She is definitely missed. Still in my heart....

Dr. Laurel was the wise Dr we needed when the Other ones didn't know what to do! She was always kind to everyone especially the nurses! A special woman and huge loss. RIP Dr Laurel !

Dear Dr. Elboim and family. It was an honor and privilege to work side by side with your precious Dr. Lauren Werner. Laurel will live in our hearts forever and always be an inspiration, modeling true dedication, expertise, commitment and genuine caring. She was a friend of nursing, pillar in the community an outstanding practitioner and she developed the best plan and treatment for all her patients. Dr. Elboim and family, I am so sorry for your loss, sending my condolences to you and family.

I feel so very honored to have been in the presence of such an inspirational and exceptional role model. I learned from her every time I was witness to any encounter she had with others, be it a co-worker, patient or family member. She knew what to say and how to say it. She knew when not to speak, when a gentle touch or understanding expression was more appropriate for the moment. I can only hope her bright life faded with the same dignity with which she lived and with as little suffering as she tried so hard to relieve from others . Thankfully her spirit continues to live all
around us in the lessons we witnessed and with which she has taught us.

I feel so fortunate to have known such an amazing woman! Dr Warner was one of the most respected doctors at SRMH. She treated everyone she came across with dignity and respect. When she came on the unit she would greet everyone by their first name and always had a beautiful smile! She will be missed but never forgotten!! We at Sonoma Valley Hospital had the pleasure to have Laurel on our medical staff when she first started her private practice in Sonoma. I also had the pleasure to serve with her on our Infection Control committee. She was one of the most caring and dedicated individuals that I have ever encountered in my 40+ years in hospital pharmacy. No matter what obstacles and challenges were placed in her path, she always approached things with a very positive, cooperative and "glass 1/2 full" mentality. She will sorely be missed in the medical community of Sonoma county.

Darling Samantha, I am so very sorry for your loss. I will be unable to attend the service for your mother as I need to be with my husband who is losing his battle with Cancer. I will be thinking of you..you will always be dear to me.

It was a pleasure to work along side Dr. Warner in the ICU. Always taking the time to share her knowledge with others, for the betterment of her patient's care. You touched many lives. You touched my life. Thank you.

The pharmacy staff at Santa Rosa Memorial loved Laurel and had great confidence in her. She was thorough, exact, wrote crystal clear orders and always had a quiet grace about her. Most doctors forget to wash their hands before and after a patient, but Laurel never forgot to do this. A beautiful person and a great doctor who saved many lives and reduced suffering with her knowledge of infectious disease. From a Chinese Poem written 1200 years ago: "I have always regretted the shallowness of words compared with the depth of human hearts." We will greatly miss you, Laurel.

I went to Dr Warner several times and loved seeing her. I am so sad she has passed way before her time. I always felt so respected by her. She was a wonderful Doctor and it is a loss to the medical community.

This is a beautiful picture of her and sums up what a lovely person she was. My sympathy goes out to all of her family.She will always be the person i admire the most in my lifetime.

Laurel was a true bright light in this world. It was an honor to work with her. I was an oncology nurse for many years at Santa Rosa Memorial, and Laurel was the best. I would always breathe a sigh of relief when she would see my patients. She always saw the big picture and was an untiring patient advocate. Treated everyone with respect. She was a true healer. She will be greatly missed.

Dear Dr. Elboim and family, so many of us are heartbroken to hear of your deep loss. Everyone who knew, worked with, or was treated by Dr. Warner was blessed by the experience. She was generous and consistent in her commitment to her patients and her colleagues. She was the expert who instilled confidence and made everyone thankful she was here. She treated everyone with respect, professionalism, and kindness. When she was present, she was fully present, and her smile was a gift. Dr. Warner was recognized by hospital staff with an award for Values in Action as well as an award for the best bedside manner but, more importantly, she will be remembered by many of us as one of those rare people who most inspired us to be better than we were. Thank you for sharing her with us.

You were such a joy to work with and treated our daughter with such care and expertise. We will remember you always and miss you so much.

I am a retired nurse from SRMH and only knew Laurel Warner as our Infectious Control Doctor. I always felt comforted when she was on duty because I knew I could always count on her to help when patients took a turn for the worse. Dr Warner was knowledgeable, wise and approachable - treating everyone she encountered with dignity and respect. Most of all she cared, and always knew what to do to help save the day and countless lives. She had a wonderful sense of humour and being red headed Leos, we shared a special bond. I have often thought of her since I retired and thought of her with love and respect. We have lost an important healer and friend, a rare treasure with a beautiful soul. Dr Warner is a sad loss to our community. She was taken from us far too early and I shall miss her.

Laurel saved my life!! She was a beautiful, caring person. I will always remember the good advice she gave that kept me strong when I was recovering from a life threatening illness. I will miss seeing her wonderful smile around the hospital. Dr. Elboim my heart goes out to you!

A delightful and amazing doctor, Laurel always greeted you with a smile, looked you in the eye, and remembered your name. The world is diminished, but we are all better for having known her. Her life was a gift.

Life has an end as a candle light would fade, but in the heart, memories yielded will forever be embedded. A prized jewel has left us. It was an honor to have known such a great person!

Dr Warner was always a favorite at Warrack Hospital. A joy to work with and a joy to know. So sorry for the loss to Dr Elboim and to the community.

I have known Laurel for 50 years. While the "doctor stuff" is great, good friends are truly rare and Laurel was a good friend.

Laurel had such a beautiful soul. She treated every patient with compassion, dignity and respect. When she was on a patient's case I could confidently reassure the family that they were in the best possible hands. Laurel will truly be missed. Healing thoughts to the family.

Dr. Warner was a breath of fresh air! My heart is broken. I will miss her kindness, smiles, and warm hugs. Our friendship extended the walls of the ICU. She always talked so lovingly about her family, and so passionately about her career. I will miss her dearly.

I am so sorry to read of Dr. Warner's passing. I worked with her for many years at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. The grace and kindness that followed Dr. Warner where ever she went will be remembered by those whose lives she touched, including my own. An exemplary physician and an extraordinary human being!

I first met Dr Warner when I was an RN at the VA in San Francisco. When I then moved to Sonoma and worked in Infection Control at Sonoma Valley Hospital, Laurel was "my ID doc" and I had the pleasure of working with her for 7 years. I looked forward to our frequent encounters at SRMH over subsequent years as well. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Dr. Elboim and to Samantha.

I am so sorry to hear of her passing. The obituary said it all. A very intelligent, kind, friendly, gentle soul who has been missed at Memorial this past year and unfortunately will be missed forever. Dr Elboim my heart breaks for you and the entire family. She picked a great day to pass...one no one will ever forget! I am truly blessed and honored to have worked with Dr Warner for many years...she is/was an angel.

My heart sank when I heard the news of Laurel's passing. She was an amazing doctor and her patients were blessed to have her on their case. She was also a great human being, truly caring for her friends and coworkers. I feel so incredibly blessed to have known her. She was a wonderful human being who will be missed dearly. My sincerest condolences to Charlie, Samantha and her family.

I worked with Dr. Warner in the ICU at SRMH. I saw first hand, the difference she made in saving lives. I told her, if I was ever a patient, I wanted her to visit me because she was so comforting as well as the smartest doctor I knew. I will always think of her on New Years Day. We have an angel in heaven watching out for us.

I had the privilege of working with Laurel and was one of the many who were touched by her brilliant light and warm smile, she was nothing short of amazing.... Dr. Warner cared for a dear friend of mine who was gravely ill 10 yrs ago with knowledge, respect and compassion. Whenever I would see her in the hallways of SRMH she always asked how my friend was doing and when I said 'Great, thanks to you' she would smile that wonderful smile of hers. I will miss that smile. Laurel was such a special person. I was always thrilled to see her on a patient's case in ICU because then I would be able to read the medical notes and totally understand the situation. She was so caring and polite to all she encountered- an incredibly intelligent and dedicated doctor. She was loved and will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
