Laurie BONE Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun and/or The Province on Jan. 24, 2015.

BONE, Laurie Ann
Laurie Ann Bone born in Richmond in 1962 and died at dusk on the day of winter solstice December 21, 2014. An ancient day of death and rebirth. She leaves her husband David Rhodes, stepchildren Kimberley Rhodes-Pavan, Cameron Rhodes, Andrew Carr (NZ) and their families, a special Aunt Joan and Uncle Helge Nielsen who had provided a safe haven and support for many years, brother Robert Bone, stepmother Barrie Bone, aunts, many cousins and some very special friends Cindy Stelmaschuk, Doreen Morash and Joanne Fisher who have been co-conspirators in her many zany adventures over the years providing love, support and encouragement in all of her creative endeavors. In addition she leaves the home crew, Sweet Pea, Lulu Belle, Yogibear, her baby Lollipop and Zoom Zoom all of whom look for her constantly. Laurie was an incredibly talented lady, a life long student of anything spiritual or ethereal, wonderfully artistic, an innovative thinker, entrepreneur and world traveller. We miss you big! A Celebration of Laurie's Life will be held in the summer at the Hatzic Lake.

I'm so sad to learn of Laurie's premature departure - she was a trailblazer from early years. In our Richmond youth she stood out as a one of a kind individual in her creativity, art and positive spirit. We grew up together from childhood to weddings and she taught me a great deal in that time, looking at life in her own extraordinary way. I feel honoured to have known her and to have been her sidekick for those years. She was such a cool chick. My condolences to her family, who must miss her terribly.

So sorry for her passing so soon, when we were just getting to know her. She had such a peaceful soul. We look forward on being your neighbours for years to come, David.

I was very sorry to hear about Laurie's passing. She was a dynamic, bright light in the world and I'm sure that right now she's riding Narco, with Babe in tow and Nubbins bouncing around at the horses' feet, thrilled to be on another adventure with his best pal Laurie. She will be missed by many.

Her love and compassion will be cherished forever. She will be missed tremendously by her family and especially her grand children.
