Martin and girls - I think of your previous Laurie (mom) often. Memories of her contagious, fun and positive spirit still hit me at just the right times. Her full-on laugh with thoughts of Duck on bike, the Abflex, your creative annual post-Christmas greeting cards, and pink flamingos on Beverly... all this and so much more fill me with joy for having known her AND each of you. I was a Theta with Laurie at SMU and she made the experience memorable with her laughter, music and she really could light up the room. My heart felt sympathy to the family for your loss.

I was a Theta with Laurie and in the Theta song group with her. Laurie smiled more than any other person I have ever known! Her unique sparkle and wonderful dimples could light up any room in an instant. Precious beyond words. She will be mightily missed.

I am so sad to have just learned of Laurie's death. I was her sorority big sister and even though I have not seen her in years, I have very fond memories of her as a beautiful young, vivacious college girl with long dark hair, always fun to be around and a great attitude. We worked long hours on Theta skits and she was so creative and talented. She will be missed.

Martin, I never was privileged to have met Laurie, and I am so very sorry for your and your daughters' loss. This obituary was such a celebration of her life and spirit- she must have been a truly amazing person. You all are in my thoughts and prayers

I will never ever forget walking into the ladies locker room at the Park Cities Y and hearing this chorus of Christmas carols coming from the showers. Resonating on the tilework, it sounded like a chorus of angels. several of us just stood in awe, breaking into smiles. a few days later I learned that it was laurie who had started the impromptu chorus and apparently, following her lead, ladies of all ages were singing along as they showered. What an amazing gift Laurie had of making others' happy, even as she was battling cancer. She will TRULY be missed.........

Avery and Annie started in preschool together and we had such fun being their Moms and watching them grow up. It did not matter if I saw Laurie yesterday or last year she always treated me like I was her dearest friend. She was immediate, inclusive, and oh,so funny. She will be missed.

Our whole family loved Laurie and she knew it! Just like everyone else who was blessed to be part of her life. We will all miss her...Martin, our prayers are with you. Bless you and your darling girls.

Martin, I will never forget the first time I met Laurie when she came up to the Texas Commerce Bank Executive Floor with you back in the 1980's. When I saw her recently at Jim Goodson's funeral, she was exactly the same as she was back then - smiling, happy and joyful. Such an amazing spirit! I am college classmate of Laurie's so although I have not stayed in touch first hand, I loved keeping up with Laurie's life through our mutual friends. She was something special on the SMU campus during our 4 years and I admired her joy of life then! My thoughts and prayers are with all of her many close friends and family members!
