I first met Laurie throught Jazzercise. This wonderful woman full of energy, grace and light became one of our most loved instructors. A natural teacher, she touched so many lives through her pure joy of movement. She has passed, but her glow lives on.

Laurie… I experienced a great void at hearing of your passing, a void which was immediately filled with memories of your smile and warmth. You showed all that came within your orbit such giving and loving qualities that everyone could only love you back. Your purity was a clear mirror where we could see a reflection of the potential for the best in all of us.
I will always cherish my interaction with you and your loving husband. Your relationship with Chik was graced with synergy I have not witnessed often. I know he is richer for his life with you--as we all are.
You will always live in our thoughts.

Laurie, you will be greatly missed. The love you demonstrated with your husband and soulmate, Chik Shank, was timeless and the epitome of the LAST TRUE LOVE. I am honored to have been in both of your presence and to have learned so much about love and commitment from you. You are a beautiful angel, never to be forgotten...

During the last few days of Laurie’s time here with us, I was honor to have been present as she shared her final thoughts and feelings. Her message was of Love, life and most of Peace.
The Dignity that she manifested up until her last breath was of Grace and of an Authentic integrity I have never experienced.
As Rhonda Masure shared, Laurie demonstrated a whole new meaning of being Attractive and Dignified.
Laurie was not only my friend she was also my teacher up until the last moment. She touched my Heart blew it wide open and has forever changed my Life.
In her Honor may we continue to walk in her Light with Integrity, Dignity, Peace and most of all Grace.
It is a blessing to shared such a Sacred experience with you all
