I just heard that Laurie finally lost her battle with CF and I am so so sorry. I haven't seen you guys in such a long time, but think of you often. We had the priviledge of meeting Laurie at many of the
"Jimbo" Parties in Abington. and the Super Bowl parties at at my Daughter Laurie's House in Pembroke.
Your sister, Laurie, was devoted to you. You were devoted to her. A beautiful sibling bond, that was envied by us, and your friends.

I met Laurie as a new nurse at Children's Hospital 12 years ago. I worked on 10 East for 2 years and during those two years I learned so much about CF from the amazing people who lived with it everyday. After leaving 10 East I kept in touch with Laurie and our nurse/patient relationship turned into a friendship. She was an amazing person. I remember one weekend shift, Jim brought their RV along with Winnie and Pongo to the hospital to visit Laurie. We went outside so she could give me a tour. She always made me laugh. I will miss her terribly but I can picture her up in Heaven laughing with so many of her friends who have lost their battles with CF. Kimmy, Matt, Jasmine, Melissa, TJ and Glen to name a few. They are all breathing easy and effortlessly for the first time. Jim, I am so sorry for your loss. Laurie will never be forgotten. I will miss her facebook updates and her beautiful smiling face. I am a better nurse and person for knowing Laurie Cyr.

Dear Jim & the Lucas Family,
I knew Laurie when we were very young, hanging out down the sea wall and being young and carefree. I am so saddened to hear of your loss and I have you all in my thoughts and prayers. Laurie's zest for life was so inspiring and I would imagine that's how she always lived.

When I first met Laurie I instantly knew that she was special. She had the greatest sense of humor, and the most wonderful smile. She loved to share her life stories: of her dogs, her home, and all the wonderful trips that she took to Canada with her family. I loved hearing her stories, and I loved caring for her. She was one of my favorite patients and she will always be dear to my heart. I know that she is in a good place and is still surrounded by all those who love her. My thoughts are with her family at this time.
