Laverne C. Wright

Mr. LaVerne C. Wright, of Medina, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at his home.Mr. Wright was born in Oakfield, NY, a son of the late Cecil V and Mildred (Higgs) Wright. A US Navy veteran, he served during World War II. He was employed by Harrison Radiator Division of GMC where he was the Director of Reliability. Active in the community, he was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Butts-Clark Post #204, American Legion and was a longtime member of the Medina School Board.Survivors include his wife, Kathleen A. (Connelly); two daughters, Holly (Bruce) Johnson of Columbia, MD and Nancy (late Gary) Avery of Colden, NY; four step-children, Daniel P. Boland of Fort Collins, CO, Mary Elizabeth Boland of India, David Michael Boland of Charleston, WV and Patrick Boland of Schertz, TX; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his step-daughter, Jeannie.There will be no prior callings hours. A private service will be held and interment will be in Lynhaven Cemetery.
