Larry was an inspiration to everyone he came in contact with. Larry is a great example of courage and strength. Through his fight he taught me how to live. Larry will be greatly missed but always remembered. Your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Peggy and Teri. Larry was an amazing friend, hilarious roommate, adventurous leader, and wonderful person. He was lucky to have as caring and loving a family as he did, I wish you comfort in your mourning.

Terry and I, and our daughters Adrienne and Ashley, wish we could better express our sorrow as well as our condolences to the family and friends of Larry Busch; and also to let you know that we all feel privileged to have known this captivating and talented young man who touched our hearts so deeply during his brief and tragic visit to Costa Rica. Our prayers are with you, once again.

Dear Peggy,
Our hearts go out to you over the loss of your dear son. I contacted Steve who is traveling right now and he, too, is of course saddened. It comes as no surprise that, with Larry's amazing fortitude and character, he was able to capture more of life from his wheelchair than most people ever know. May you treasure all those moments you shared and find peace.
