LAWRENCE MARPLE "Larry" Dager

Lawrence Marple Dager, known affectionately as Larry, passed away on August 8, 2024, at the age of 73 in Newark, Delaware. Born on August 27, 1951, in Dover, Delaware, Larry was a cherished figure in both his professional and personal life.

Larry graduated from Christiana High School in 1969 and pursued further education in finance in Delaware and Pennsylvania. He made a significant mark in the professional world as a real estate and finance expert, owning and operating McCambridge Real Estate Company, Mortgage Company, and Reliance Commercial Funding, alongside his beloved wife, Carol A. Dager.

Larry was an active member of Harvest Church and Church of God, where he engaged deeply with his community and faith. His hobbies included collecting antiques, boating on the family pontoon boat along the Chesapeake Channel, and enjoying visits with close friends and high school alumni.

A devoted family man, Larry was the pillar of strength and love for his extensive family. He is survived by his brother, Albert Dager; daughters Angel, Donna, Shirley, Joeli, Deane, Annie, and Jessica; grandchildren Bill, Richard, Stephen, Eddie, Jack, Renee, Michael, Gregory, Aleah, Julia, Natalie, Jack, and Cody; and 12 great-grandchildren. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothea Ida Dager and Albert Elwood Dager.

Larry's life was celebrated at the Smyrna Clayton Hall Moose Lodge on August 17, 2024, where family and friends, including his daughters and grandchildren, gathered in his memory. In lieu of traditional gifts, the family requests that contributions be made by planting a Christmas tree in Larry's honor, reflecting his love for Christmas and his tradition of helping needy families during the holiday season.

The Schoenberg Funeral Directors and Cremation Service of Delaware in Wilmington, Delaware, assisted the family with the arrangements. Larry's legacy of kindness, generosity, and community involvement will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by all who knew him.
