DECATUR - Rita K. Cloyd, 72, of Decatur, IL, died 12:15 P.M., Sunday, November 6, 2011, at her residence. The children have chosen to have a private family service in honor of their parents, Rita and Larry Cloyd. Cremation rites will be accorded. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to St. Teresa High School, Decatur, IL. Rita was born June 24, 1939, in Quincy, IL, the daughter of Rutherford and Helen May (Newman) Roberts. She married Larry Lee Cloyd on October 19, 1957 in Decatur, IL. Surviving are her children Tamara C. Blevins and husband Howard of Houston, TX, Jill A. Cloyd of Sugar Land, TX, Charles D. Cloyd and wife Brenda of Mt. Zion, IL; grandchildren Michael Blevins of Houston, TX, Carly Blevins of Houston, TX, Dylan Pijnnaken of Sugar Land, TX, Alicia Cloyd of Mt. Zion, IL, Brianna Cloyd of Mt. Zion, IL. Jill, Charlie, and Tammy

Rita will be truly missed. She was like a mother to me growing up. I would get in just as much trouble as Jill...she didn't play favorites when it came to that. She was also there when you needed her and as I got older she became a good friend. I will treasure all the many memories of Larry and Rita. They are together again.
