Lawrence Thomas Donelon 1924 - 2007 Gladys Marie Donelon 1931 - 2007 In loving memory of our family members Tom and Gladys (Matthews) Donelon (Fog and Misty) who passed away suddenly on Monday August 6th 2007. Tom and Gladys are survived by their sons James and Stephen (Becky); daughter Gwenyth (Chris) Capeness; grandchildren, Tamara MacGregor Donelon, Cailyn Donelon, Patrick Juric, Allison Donelon, Jason Donelon and Chelsea Tennant-Donelon; sisters May Stonehocker and Dorothy (Norbert) Heilemann; brother Richard (Luce) Matthews and many nieces and nephews. Tom, born and raised in Edmonton, always had great sense of humour, spreading joy and laughter on every road he traveled, while Gladys, born and raised on a farm near Bentley, was a great role model and a shining example of honesty and faith. They followed their hearts, sharing and caring for people from all walks of life. Married for a loving 54 years, Tom worked for 35 years at the University of Alberta and Gladys was a teacher at many Edmonton schools. Together they were widely known for their work with youth and for their open doors to those in need. In 1983 they began a new adventure together moving to Turkey to spread their faith with Canadian Baptist Ministries. They remained in Turkey until 1992, when they returned to Edmonton to be close to family and friends and watch their grandchildren grow. A Celebration of Tom and Gladys's lives will be held at Braemar Baptist Church, (the corner of 98 Avenue and 75 Street, Edmonton) on Monday August 13 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Chelsea Donelon Trust Account (at any TD Canada Trust) or Canadian Baptist Ministries ( www.cbmin.org or 7185 Mill Creek Drive, Mississauga, ON L5N 5R4).
