Lawrence Frazier Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 6, 2025.
Raymond - Lawrence "Larry" Frazier, age 78, passed away on October 27, 2025 from complications of Alzheimer's Disease. He was born in Norwalk, Connecticut on January 26, 1947 - the only son of Lawrence Frazier and Mary Ann Mastroddi.

After graduating from Brien McMahon High School in 1965, Larry studied at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, graduating in 1971 with a Master of Education.

Larry was a lifelong educator, beginning his professional career in administrative education in Connecticut. He then moved to Lamoine, Maine as a teaching principal and later Woolwich, Maine as a K-8 principal. Larry then spent 20 years as the principal of the William H. Rowe Elementary School in Yarmouth, Maine (also serving as the Technology Director during his tenure), eventually retiring in 2005. He was often invited by other school districts to do peer coaching, technology workshops and provide guidance in best teaching practices. Larry was proud to work with Governor Angus King in the early 2000s towards the launch of the Maine Learning Technology Initiative, a program devised to give the state a competitive edge and provide computers to low-income students. Larry was an Apple Distinguished Educator, a title recognizing K-12 and higher education pioneers using Apple technology to transform teaching and learning. Following his retirement from administrative education, Larry worked for Tyler Technologies as a training manager, contributing to the development of and subsequent teaching of record keeping software in education. Larry also was an active member of the Maine and National Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.

In 2008 Larry married fellow administrative educator and best friend, Bonnie Reidman. They built a life of memories in Cape Elizabeth, Pownal and Raymond, Maine as well as Melbourne Beach, Florida as snowbirds for many years.

In his spare time, Larry enjoyed geocaching with friends, tinkering with new technology as it was developed, photography (specifically lighthouses of Maine), staying up-to-date on all things sci-fi and enjoying "a cheeseburger in paradise" while listening to Jimmy Buffett. Larry was also an active member in the Amateur Hamm Radio community.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents - Lawrence and Mary Ann Frazier.

Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Bonnie Reidman; his daughters; Patricia (Jonathan) Gardner, Karyn (Andrew Higgins) Reidman; Maureen (Jason) Weatherby, and his grandchildren Claire Gardner, Owen, Oliver, Callie and Katelin Weatherby.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date. Online condolence messages can be submitted at www.mainefuneral.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, Maine for their support and comfort given in Larry's final days, or The Alzheimer's Association for their research and treatment efforts of this devastating disease.

Larry was a true Trekkie and would want to bid farewell with Dr. Spok's famous last words,

"I have been, and always shall be, your friend. Live long and prosper."
