I've just heard that you went home to be with Our Father and know that I will always think of you as the kind and thoughtful person that you were, to everyone. All my love, Linda.

Lori was a steady light in our lives, never bright or bold, but always there. We are deeply grieved by the passing of this kind and gentle spirit. We talked to him at length the Thursday night before and reminisced about our old times together in Mexico and how he would come with us next year and get his dialysis in Puerto Vallarta. He was always the happiest in Mexico, speaking to the locals in fluent Spanish, learning Mexican history and culture and enjoying his favorite Douce XX's. Few people knew he was proficient in Spanish, loved to travel, anywhere, was a trained photographer and loved history and archeology. Few knew his passion for Mayan history or that he had read over 100 books on the subject. Always, a humble, loyal, compassionate and supportive friend. We should all celebrate the privilege we have had in knowing this tenderhearted, generous and caring man.

Lorie was my surrogate family. He has been with me since the day I was born and supported me throughout my life. He was the most giving, selfless man I have ever known, and I am lucky to have been such a big part of his life.
I will always remember the many trips we took; whether it be England, Arizona, Mexico or on of the other destinations. Lorie's passion for culture taught me a great deal. I believe his favorite destination was Mexico loving the people, the language and the land.
I know how disappointed he was in the past few years that he wasn't able to travel to Mexico and I only hope that he is able to continue his travels in the afterlife. He was truly a great man. I will never forget you Lorie you will be with me always.

I had hoped to make it to the funeral but was unable to. My sincerest apologies. My thoughts and prayers are with Lawrence's family.
Lawrence was an immediate friend to our family when my sister began to look into the Orthodox Church. My parents soon followed, and found a welcoming friendship and hospitality with Lawrence and his brother Con. I enjoyed very much hearing about his travels, and met with him on several occasions so he could impart some of his Spanish language skills. He was patient, kind and gentle, and will be dearly missed. May you be comforted as he comforted others.
