I just returned to town and learned of Dr. Merrick's death, and I am so shocked and saddened. He was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed. You are in my prayers.

I don't know what to say-other than I am in shock. I saw doc before I went off to spring break and he was always such a breath of fresh air. I liked doing business with him the last 15 years. Working in Ottumwa will not be the same. Driving to his office will be so automatic that it will be difficult to think I wont be going to the south side anymore. Thanks for all the laughter doc. You will be truely missed.

I am in a state of shock after hearing of Dr. Merricks death. He was the nicest and kindest man I have ever known. Pat words can't express how sorry I am. I know he was a loving husband and you will miss him so. He was my FRIEND and doctor....but mostly my friend and I will miss him too. I wish I could make things better but I can't...please know you and your family are in my prayers.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the family. I worked for Dr. Merrick for many years as a nurse. He was always kind and fun to work with. He liked to joke around and played many jokes on me...ky jel in my gloves, plastic mouse on my key board etc. He was a great person and truly loved his family and very proud of his children. He will be missed by many.

Sorry to hear of Dr. Merrick's death, he was a Dr. and a friend to my husband Kenny, they passed a dollar back and forth betting on ball games. Once he called Kenny at 6:00 am to let him know the Dr. had won back the dollar. He was so much fun. Kenny passed away 1 1/2 years ago.

Dr. Merrick was such a kind soul. His family will be in my thoughts and prayers. He was a great Doctor who helped me to get better lots of times. I have been seen in his clinic from when I was a kid. I am very sorry to hear about his death. May God bless and keep his family and give them the peace that only he can give.
