Age 75, on Tuesday, December 11, 2012, of Brentwood, originally of the South Side. Beloved husband of the late Leona C. Michalski; loving father of Lawrence E., Linda J. Lazenga and Joseph A. Michalski; Pap of L.J., Jake, Taylor, and Adam; son of the late Frank and Alice (Lipps) Michalski; brother of Linda Petrichevich, Alice Kimmel, Pearl Wasick, and James Michalski. Friends will be received at the JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Friday 2-9 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Saturday morning at 9:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Sylvester Church at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to a charity of one's choice. Please send condolences to:

Many years ago, your Mom and Dad were like second parents to me--cool, funny, loving, adventurous, generous--and I have so, so many fond memories of time spent with your family: on the hills of Sunny Slopes; shooting hoops in your backyard, playing on Catskill Ave--I'm sorry for your loss, and hope you're all well.

I am very sorry for your loss. I remember all the good times and fun we all had together growing up. Your dad and mom were like second parents to us.
