Lawrence Schabert Obituary

Born in St. Peter, Minnesota on July 28, 1944, he was the son of Joseph and Katherine Schabert. Larry attended Catholic grade school and graduated from Mankato West High School in 1962. Larry studied Industrial Engineering at Mankato State College for two years before attending a private Industrial Engineer trade school in Chicago. While in Chicago, the Vietnam War was going on and he was drafted, serving in the Air Force from July of 1966 until 1974. During this time he received his Electronic Engineering training. Larry married Pamela Marie Johnson on January 28, 1967 after his basic training. In 1974, Larry returned to civilian life and took a job with E.F. Johnson, a small business radio company in Clear Lake, IA. Larry transferred with the company to Waseca in 1978 and was later transferred with the company to Irving, TX in March of 2005.Larry is survived by his wife, Pamela of Irving, TX; three children, Brian and Michelle Schabert of Long Lake, MN, Tonya Secka of Irving, TX, and Brenda and Matthew Stoltz of St. Paul, MN; and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, Joe and Donna Schabert of Mankato, Robert and Bernita Schabert of Courtland, and Thomas and Jane Schabert of Mankato; three sisters, Kathleen and Kenneth McMichael of Eagle Lake, Patricia and Ron Gaines of Wells, and Geraldine and Keith McMichael of Eagle Lake; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother-Michael Schabert, and one sister-Diane Seitz.Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 25, 2008, at 5:00 P.M. at Christ Community Church in Waseca, with Pastor Howard Lundeen officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2:30 P.M. until 4:30 P.M. at church. Burial will be held on Friday, September 26, 2008, at 12:15 PM at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca is assisting the family.

Was so sorry to here about Larry. I worked with him at E.F Johnson's. He was such a dedicated employee and was always finding ways to make our work easier. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all
