Lawrence J. Steiner

Lawrence J. Steiner Sr., 77, of Evanstown, passed away Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, at home, surrounded by his loving family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Steiner was born Jan. 22, 1928, in Herminie #2, a son of the late George and Annie Maguire Steiner. He was a member of the United States Marine Corps, having served in China and in the Far East. He was Protestant by faith. Prior to retirement in 1994, he worked in maintenance at the Norwin Towne Square for 33 years. He is survived by his loving family; his wife of 50 years, Mary Ann Antonich Steiner, of Evanstown; his son, Lawrence Steiner Jr. and his fiancee, Debbie, of Lincoln Heights; his daughter, Wendy Rambler and her husband, Mark, of West Newton; and his brother, John Steiner, of Stockertown. He is also survived by his faithful dog, Lady. In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by his brothers, Russell, Thomas, Leroy, William and Harold Steiner; and his sisters, Annie Reece and Florence Ferencz. A private family visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the BEATTY-RICH FUNERAL HOME INC., Route 136, Madison. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Thomas Bodie officiating. Interment with full military rites accorded by the Armbrust Veterans will be in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.
