Tommy Templeton

Tommy Templeton, 49, of Onawa, Iowa, died on Thursday, August 31, 2017, at his home. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, with Pastor Catie Newman officiating. Burial will follow in the Onawa Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. until service time on Tuesday at the chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa. Thomas Elbert Templeton was born on January 28, 1968, in Onawa, the son of Thomas Gordon and Elaine (Taylor) Templeton. He attended school at West Monona in Onawa, and graduated from the bodywork program at WITCC in Sioux City. Following graduation, he worked for his father at T & L Auto in Onawa. He then lived in Texas for ten years, where he worked in maintenance at an apartment complex. He then returned to live in Onawa. Tommy enjoyed building all kinds of models and working on motors, cars, and lawnmowers. Tommy was Tommy. Survivors include his father and stepmother, Thomas and Debbie Templeton of Onawa, IA; mother and stepfather, Elaine and Gene Sedivy of Denton, NE; three stepsiblings, Zac (Julie) Johannsen of Sergeant Bluff, IA, Melissa (Mike) Pratt of Omaha, NE, and Alisha (Sid Mosher) Podkovich of Sioux City, IA; aunt, Ann Delanty of Denison, IA; cousins, Sarah Delanty of Ricketts, IA and Theresa Mohabir of Hopkins, MN; his daughter, Kyli Theeler of Duncombe, IA; and several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Helen and Bert Prichard; paternal grandfather, Forrest Templeton; and two uncles, Ronnie Taylor and Patrick Delanty.
