I think if you often. You're in a much better place trust me. It was an honor and a pleasure to have worked with you. And it was definitely an honor to associate with you too. It's unrecognizable. We shall meet again.

Patrick Hackett

May you rest in peace. My name is Patrick Hackett and I was a rock and roll promoter in the early 1970s in South Florida and in New Orleans Louisiana. I cook promoted a few shows with Leas at the Miami Hollywood Sportatorium. I'm sorry I waited so long to write this message. I didn't even know this was available.

Leas was my best friend at university and after. We met when we both showed up for a Summer class at Wharton on July 4. We wondered why no one else was there, started talking, discovered our mutual error, went off to shoot some pool and became fast friends. Leas taught me much about life: the side with fun and spark. Leas' father served me Graduation Dinner at the Barkley Hotel as I had no one else. What a treat it was for me to have Leas and his family to enter and stay in my life, one of those occasions that was meant to be. One of the last occasions when I met him was at my house in Emerald Bay, CA. then again when my Angel Cynthia and I flew to Miami to visit him in 1996. SALUT kind Leas! SALUT! You are still my friend.

Leas, your legacy is still on and will continue for ever. We remember you as if it was yesterday.

I will miss you Leas. I was around when Hope was born. My junior year project in highschool I spent working for you at your home office and learning how a show was put together and I've seen MANY big rock acts thanks to you. You'd give me a job at the show like "go give Sly Stone his paycheck", etc. I discovered years later that part of your community work was helping high school kids learn the rock promotion business. What a kind man you were! I know you are with the angels now.

Growing up in Miami in the 1960's & 1970's, every great concert I attended at the Fronton, Sportatorium or Pirate's World had your name on them. You provided the soundtrack of my life! I met you once in front of Tobacco Road when you were escorting 12 year old Derek Trucks to Miami for his first show here. We talked for a few minutes, you were very gracious and kind. Thanks for memories that will last a lifetime... Say hello to my old friend, Tom Dowd.
Godspeed, Leas!

Growing up in Miami in the 1960's and 1970's, every ticket to all the incredible concerts I attended at the Fronton, Sportatorium and Pirate's World ALWAYS had your name on them. You provided the soundtrack to my life! I met you once in front of Tobacco Road as you were bringing 12 year old Derek Trucks to Miami for his first ever gig here. We talked for a few minutes and you were very gracious and kind. Thanks so much for memories that will last a lifetime. Say hello to my old friend, Tom Dowd. Godspeed...

Leas - I thought of you recently as I was recounting our old rock days. I will be forever grateful to you for loaning my partner Garrett and me the money we needed to buy equipment and go into business providing the lighting for your many shows in South Florida, including the series of gigs we did in the Jai Alai Fronton, Sportatorium and Pirates World from 1971-1975. Fun, memorable years and you helped make it so. Thank you - continue to have fun and create wonderful things wherever you go!

You will forever be in the hearts of Tri-Lakes Group of Branson West Mo.
In the rising of the sun and its going down, we remember them, when we are weary and in need of strength, we will remember them, when we are lost and are sick of heart, we remember them, when we have Joys we yearn to share, we remember them,so long as we live, they too shall live, for they are now a part of us, as we remember them. I met Leas over 22 years ago at the 10pm meeting of the Biscayne Room on NW 7th Avenue. My sponsor, Lorraine, brought me to the meeting and introduced me to her friend Leas.

I've long believed the Leas' cool allowed many of us to mindfully turn our worst nightmare into our greatest strength. Having met Leas in my first year, and learning we had common acquaintances at Concerts West encouraged me and I stayed.

Thank-you Leas for all your service, for being you, and for loving Debbie. You will be missed on this earth.

Debbie,
I wish I had said goodbye but he knew we cared. The fire in the kitchen of The Bellevue Stratford in Phila. will always be one of my fondest memories. I'll have a cup of coffee this morning for him.

Dear Leas,
I met you and Debbie at the 10:30pm Coral Room meeting. As you know, you both had a significant impact on my recovery, as well as reviving my sense of purpose in life. You two were my closest AA people ... and I will be forever grateful for all of the kindness, love, caring, joy, and vision that you both brought to all of us, not to mention the many delicious meals at Versailles, the last of which was this month on my son and your birthdays. Leas, your humor, vision, clarity and wisdom really stand out. I am really going to miss you, but you are just a thought away, and I smile whenever I think of you. My love to Deborah, your trusted partner, and my support to her. Your message lives on 'wherever there is an AA in need, my hand reaches out'.
Love always, Pam

Goodbye Leas and God bless! I remember my days working with you when I was in high school and what great experiences I had for that short stint, how many great bands I got to see. I am glad you found someone great like Debbie to share your later years and vision and that you are reunited with Hope. I have many great memories of your tolerance & kindness (I am sure I seemed like an idiot to you back then, ha ha). All good wishes to Deborah and your families. Rock on!

The Shepherd's Psalm by David.
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd: I shall lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil. My cup runs over. Surely goodness and loving kindness shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

We will miss you,

In 1970, when I was a senior in high school, I was a co-producer of a pop music festival at our school to be held on our football practice field. Leas Campbell helped us book the acts we presented and couldn't have been nicer, gracious and helpful. I will never forget what he said when he saw our proposed venue: "It's a natural!" I have never forgotten that line, and never will. Rest in peace, Mr. Campbell. You touched my life.

I am saddened to hear about Leas' death. I knew Leas in the 70's through my mother who was a member of the old Coral Room on Minorca. I attended many of the concerts that he promoted, and he truly was a pioneer in the music industry here in Miami. So many of the big concerts were put on by Leas Campbell Productions. He loved his son, Hope, dearly, and we were all devastaed to hear of Hope's untimely death. Although I have not seen Leas in many years, I have fond memories of him and I want to express my deepest condolences to his family. Leas was a unique and special person, touching so many lives in his work with those affected by aclohohlism and drug addiction.
