Gainesville - Lee Wayne Avers passed away peacefully in Gainesville, Georgia on March 27, 2025, at age 85, surrounded by his family. Lee was born January 19, 1940 to Ervin and Jean Avers in Clay Township Michigan, the third of five children. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Alton and Carl. Lee was married 57 years and is survived by Frances Lee Avers (née Raven), and son, Timothy, granddaughter Natalie, of Gainesville, and granddaughter Chrysta of Pensacola, Florida. Lee is also survived by sisters Ethel Lovelace (Sarasota, FL) and Carol Ford (Algonac MI), and many nieces and nephews. Lee was proud to honorably serve in the US Army from 1958 to 1962. He deeply loved his family and many friends. A private burial will be followed by a celebration of life to be announced at a later date.
