Lee Mulcrone Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 2, 2023.
Lee Charles Mulcrone, age 67, passed away on June 29, 2023. Beloved husband of Barbara Mulcrone of 42 years; loving father of Zach (Eileen) Mulcrone, Andrea (Dan Evon) Mulcrone, Jon (Swen Oosterboer) Mulcrone, and Julia (Alex Hobson) Mulcrone; cherished grandfather of Connor, Liam, and Maggie; treasured brother to seven siblings Ed (Dannie) Mulcrone, the late Jay, Pat (Mike) Walker, Jayne (the late Bob) Grabowski, Bob (Donna) Mulcrone, Tom (Pat) Mulcrone, and Judy (Paul) Grzyb; dear uncle to many nieces and nephews; and a good friend to many. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Edward and Mary Ellen Mulcrone.

Lee lived intentionally with an excitement for life and an unrelenting curiosity for the world around him. Lee was always quick to provide a kind word and never met a stranger he did not consider a friend. How lucky we were to know and love him.

The memorial visitation will be held Friday, July 14, 2023, from 3-9 p.m. at Olson Burke-Sullivan Funeral & Cremation Center, 6467-77 N. Northwest Hwy. (one block North of Devon), Chicago. Visitation info: 773-774-3333. The memorial mass will take place Saturday, July 15, at 10 a.m., at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, 320 S. Washington St., Park Ridge. In lieu of flowers, please take time to revel in the magic and mystery of nature as Lee did every day of his life. Donations may also be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation at www.wish.org.

Hi Mulcrone Family, I worked with Lee at HP and considered him to be one of the nicest, and most sincere people I've had the pleasure of working with. I just learned of his passing today and am so very sad to hear the news. Lee made my job easier and I will truly miss working with him. I hope at some point soon that his memory elicits more smiles and laughter for you all than it does tears. My thoughts and prayers include you all. God bless.

I can say that I have been to Hometown, Illinois and experienced the Memorial Day Day breakfast severed by Bar Wired Ed Mulcrone! Lee and the Mulcrone family are amazing. Our friendship started at St Mary´s continues to this very day! I think of the keggars, concerts, and hiking experiences that we enjoyed. Your wedding to Barb is a memorable event that I will always cherish. She is very special person. Our family prayers & hearts goes out to Barb and your family. Bob Canchola

Lee loved life, music, and laughter. We laughed a lot over the years, and found his laugh not only contagious, but as I learned later in life, very therapeutic. We once did a skit on stage at St Mary's University at a Gong Show spoof borrowed from the old Spanky & Our Gang singing group called "Commercial". He laughed long & hard.. Remembering Lee warms the heart. I'm so very thankful for his friendship and the laughter.

Barb... I´m so sorry to hear of Lee´s passing. Though it´s been many years since Lee and I spoke- my college memories of him remain vivid. He made me laugh with his wonderful sense of humor and we made some great music together!!
I will miss him and say a prayer for you and your entire family.
