Lee Richburg Obituary
He was born April 28, 1927, in High Shoals, son of the late Willie G. and Marie Rodgers Richburg.
Lee served his country in the US Navy during World War II. He worked at Firestone Mill and later became an agent with Durham Life Insurance Company, retiring after 30 years of service. He was a member of First Assembly of God in Gastonia where he served as a deacon. Lee was an avid golfer, enjoyed travelling, and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Layton Richburg, by his second wife, Billie Braswell Richburg, and by his sister, Eva Jeanette Frasure.
Survivors of Mr. Richburg include his daughter, Iris Cook of Charlotte; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Janet Richburg of Marietta, Ga.; stepson, Tim Braswell and wife Tami of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; sister, Kathleen Inman of Bessemer City; grandchildren, Brian Ledford (Mary), Mark Lee (Lisa); stepgrandchildren, Jeremy Braswell (Anna), Jennifer Monk (Gene); great-grandchildren, Patrick and Riley Ledford; Alexis, Claire, Talon and Beckett Braswell.
The family will receive friends 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2016, at First Assembly of God, 777 Myrtle School Road, Gastonia, NC 28052.
A service to celebrate Lee's life will follow in the sanctuary at 2 p.m. with Pastors Ralph Dale and Dennis Boyce officiating.
Interment will follow the service at Gaston Memorial Park with Military Rites performed by the Gaston County Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gaston Hopice, PO Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054.

Ricky and I are saddened by Lee's passing. We have many special memories of Lee and his family. We're sorry we are unable to attend the funeral. We are praying for the family.

I have been knowing Lee since I was a little boy.Lee taught in Sunday School since I was a young boy at Oak Wood Park Assembly of God.When my wife and I come to Gastonia and visit the church,I made sure to see Brother Lee Richburg.He was a inspirational to my life.One day I will see him again in glory,PRAISE BE TO GOD.
