He was born in Nechanitz, Texas on October 25, 1921. He was a few days away from his 95th birthday on Earth. Instead he is celebrating in Heaven.
He received his degree from Blinn College in Brenham, Texas. He married Evelyn Prellop Schuster on August 3, 1952 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin, Texas. They were married for 64 loving years.
Lee Roye served in the US Army: Company C Signal Corp setting up communication lines. His group preceded McArthur in the field during WWII in the Pacific Arena. He entered the army as a private and received an honorable discharge as a staff sergeant.
He worked for Southern Pacific Transport for 25 years. At the age of 60 he began working for Spring Branch ISD and worked there for 30 years until the age of 90. He was the beloved crossing guard and office aid at Hollibrook Elementary and Spring Shadows Elementary schools.
He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Houston, Texas where he served as an elder and was an active church member for 60 years. He had a passion for his farm, the outdoors, baseball (he loved his Astros), helping children, his family, and the church.

Dear Evelyn,
It was so good to see you at the 500Forward Celebration last Saturday. We are so blessed by the Reformation and what Martin Luther did so that we are able to hear the Gospel clearly. God be with you today and evryday!

Dear Evelyn,
Please excuse our late condolences. We have been praying for you since we received the email from St. Mark. Paul and I are out of the loop of information, so we missed the funeral. We really would have liked to be there to give you a hug and our condolences in person. Now, I am sending you a cyberhug! Love and prayers, always!

We live behind Lee Roye in Spring Branch, sharing a backyard fence. In addition to the many talents listed in his obituary, I remember him being an excellent gardener. If it grew from a seed, it could be found in Lee Roye's garden. He was a good man and my family was better for having him as a neighbor. May God provide grace, peace and mercy to all of you at this time.

Dear Evelyn, Brenda and Family.
My thoughts are with you during this time. Your Husband, Dad and Grandfather led a long and busy life, always a smile and easy to talk to. Glad he is at peace in Heaven. My Love, Barbie, Michael, Michael Scott and Gregory Mitchell.
