Martha F. McCaffrey

Martha Faye McCaffrey lost her battle with cancer at her home in Marshfield Thursday, May 17. She was the wife of the late Philip McCaffrey and mother of Gilbert McCaffrey of Hanover and the late John McCaffrey. Martha is survived by her brother Gary Staples and his wife Gail of Canton, NY and three nieces; Lori Staples of Cohoes, NY, Jill Yu of Woodside, NY and J. Erin Staples of Fort Collins, CO. She also leaves her only cousin, Cindy Kastner of Jacksonville, FL, who helped care for her these last few weeks. Martha was a graduate of Hanover High School. She worked in school bus transportation since 1983 with the last 26 years with First Student as terminal manager and contract supervisor in Norwell. Her greatest joy was working with the children. Martha was a Rainbow Girl Advisor and was past Matron of the Scituate Chapter and of the Dorothy Bradford Chapter Order of Eastern Star in Hingham. At her request, there will be no visiting hours or service. She was able to visit and say her goodbyes to all her family and friends in these last few weeks.
