Great influence in my life. Leff counseled me during my difficulties with stammering. Leff was a great communicator and a compassionate person. He wanted me to participate with the debate team to assist with my stammering. It was a great experience. Because of Leff's encouragement, I was able to conquer my stammering and have lived a wonderful life due to Leff's talents and encouragement. I will never forget him and I am sorry I did not get to see him before he passed. A great man that, I am sure, influenced many students like myself.

Lorraine, the way you spoke of Leff, as well as your grin when you did so, was always so beautiful. Wishing all I can to you and your beautiful family, always.

We all know the wonderful, gentle, kind and loving man that Leff was but the outstanding thought to me is (you are right David) Lorraine & Leff's Love Story....never told but was always constant. 49 years ago I witnessed the deepest, heartwarming love and commitment of all time....their marriage. To me, I look back on it and address it as "The Notebook" first told in reality...!!!

I was saddened to read of Mr. LaHuta's passing, but it was nice reading about his many accomplishments, most of which I never knew. I was fortunate to have taken his English classes in Port Richmond High School. I graduated in 1980, but only because of him. I mean that literally. I had many good teachers, but Mr. LaHuta really cared about his students. He took things to heart. I owe my love of writing to him. Thank you, Leff.
